This was my first time at Umi and I was not disappointed. We went to umi around noon on a Monday for a birthday celebration. I was there for the Sushi and my friend for anything but Sushi.
We were greeted upon entering, and then seated. We were offered menus and drinks. I ordered iced tea and she ordered a pot of hot tea.
We started the meal with 2 appetizers, vegetable tempura and spring rolls. Just the right amount to start the meal. The spring rolls came as 6 mini rolls. For the main course I ordered the Heart Attack Roll and she, the Chicken Chow Mein. Both the sushi and the Chow mein had incredible flavor and were generous portions. The Heart Attack Roll consisted of spicy tuna, cucumber, and shrimp tempura topped with albacore, wasabi yuzu dressing, and sriracha. The meal was reasonable @ $60 before the tip. Having found this hidden gem in North Spokane I highly recommend it! J

It’s considered a pretty good restaurant in Spokane. They offer Japanese cuisine and a chef’s menu with somewhat less authentic but decent Chinese dishes.

I really liked the Spokane Roll and Kobe Beef Roll. It’s a pity they removed the chef’s menu, as some Chinese dishes are no longer available. The remaining Chinese dishes are quite heavy in flavor—just average, but still edible.

Haru is the best sushi chef in the State. Amazing customer service and the food.. is simply amazing. The best freshest food so far from the ocean. The staff here is so friendly! Sarah the manager and Kyle one of the servers Id consider friends. Amazing place to be and to eat. Great ambiance with quick professional and polite staff that provide the best lunch/dinner experiences in Asian/Sushi delicious delicacies.

The first time we went to Umi (in person) it was fabulous. Fresh and delicious. Loved it. When ordering takeout, our entire opinion changed. We spent $100 on rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. Every single piece of fish we ordered had bones in it. Some pieces had several. And they weren’t small bones. It was clearly a lack of attention to detail. I know it happens once in a while, but for every piece to be that way was a huge disappointment.

My friend I met here for dinner on 5/1/24 and had a great experience. The restaurant was clean and our server was attentive.
For sushi, the fish was very fresh tasting and the rolls were delicious.
My friend also ordered the Umi Fish and chips, which is panko breaded sea bass and to-go, she got her husband an order of their Tangerine Beef. I was told the Tangerine beef was very flavorful and crispy.
I look forward to trying this place again.

Service is excellent and fast, servers are top notch. Atmosphere is great. Food is delicious. Their sushi is fantastic, I enjoyed the Rod Roll, teriyaki chicken is fresh and delicious. Tempura veggies and veggie spring rolls are a go-to here. I’ve always had a great experience dining here and will keep coming back.

I came in last night for dinner with my son and nephew (who loves sushi more than anything) It was our first time here and we will definitely come back very soon. Our server; Sarah R, was excellent and attentive. Our food arrived quickly even though the restaurant was starting to get busy.

Great service. Atmosphere was easy to hear one another talk and very clean. The oyster shots are fantastic and the sashimi and rolls are top notch!

Tried a few sushi restaurants in Spokane. I discovered Umi kitchen and wow!! Rolls are super fresh, delicious fresh ginger, and service is great! I drive an hour from Stevens County, so it better be worth it. Prices are reasonable, the more expensive rolls can feed two. I had a Tiger roll and a Salmon Skin roll.

Top 3 sushi in Spokane hands down. Happy hour is a steal and the service is always Top Notch. Great neighbors to visit after and plenty of parking. I almost always get salmon and tuna maki and it never disappoints! Tonight was quite busy and Sarah was fantastic! Very recommended.
