We had dinner on Christmas Eve. As it was already pretty booked, we catched a high table next to the kitchen. Definitely a good spot for the first visit, as we could see how the food was freshly prepared!
Service was fast and amazingly friendly! The food exceeded our expectations. You need to try the spicy chicken!
Also the ramen where on the spot!
I highly recommend UMI for anyone who wants to have great Asian cuisine in San Pawl!

Absolutely a gem of a sushi restaurant in this area. The atmosphere is quiet and inviting. Staff were all nice. We came here multiple times even with other options close by. Fresh sushi and definitely recommend coming here. They also have a nice outdoor area to eat at well that’s sheltered which is good for the winds in the evening.

Stunning seafront location with jaw-dropping sunsets, modern elegant vibe but still relaxed – perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends.
The fish is incredibly fresh, you can really taste the quality (they even sneak in some local Maltese touches here and there). We tried:
• Tuna tartare – pure explosion of flavour
• Spicy tuna roll & yellowtail scallion – perfectly balanced, just the right kick
• Uromaki and various nigiri – rice cooked spot-on, vinegar well balanced, never cloying
• Mixed sharer platter – generous portions, amazing value, great way to sample everything
Service is attentive, friendly and knowledgeable (they happily explain everything and handle gluten-free requests with ease). Prices are very fair considering the quality, location and freshness.
We ended up going back twice in the same week of holiday – unplanned! My teenage daughter summed it up perfectly: “This is the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life.”
Pro tip: book ahead, especially for sunset. And grab a table with sea view if you can.

Pretty good food. Went in with low expectations since it’s in the heart of the tourist zone but pleasantly surprised… I wouldn’t say it’s a “go to” restaurant but sure is a great bite.

All the food we had here was delicious. Spicy tuna rolls were best I’ve ever had. The tacos were so delicious also. The only thing that let it down was the wait between starters and main but apart from that, the staff were lovely. Cocktails were ok but would definitely recommend for sushi.
