On the positive side, the staff greeted us warmly and seated us very quickly. I was excited for the hibachi presentation, and the chef did not disappoint—the show was fun and engaging. However, the food itself was noticeably salty. It seems like they use salted butter along with regular soy sauce, which made the dishes saltier than they needed to be. With a lighter hand on the salt, I would have enjoyed it much more.
Our server, Joanne, was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We ordered sushi, fried calamari, and hibachi entrées. The calamari was mostly batter with very little calamari inside, and the sushi was just okay. (Personally, I think Kimono still has the best sushi in that area.) The hibachi was decent, but again, the saltiness took away from the overall flavor.
Would I return? Not necessarily for the food alone. But if you’re looking for a lively hibachi show and a fun dining experience, this might be a good place to go.
First visit and it definitely made a good impression that I will definitely be coming back for more.
The sushi isn’t like NY or CA/ Bay Area, but it’s decent for this area. I’m a bit picky because I’ve had some of the best.
The drinks have always been good.
The waitresses have always been fairly good too.
The bad: it gets really smoky in there: more so than some other hibachi restaurants that we’ve been to.
The worst: told the receptionist when we checked in it was our daughter’s 5th birthday. Tonight’s chef underwhelmed us. Our daughter was very bored until he started interacting after the dinner. She’s been talking about going back to this place ALL year since her last birthday. Then at the end, we boxed up leftovers and before we paid, the absolute worst thing happened from a 5 year old birthday standpoint. The table with the entertaining chef next to us also had a birthday girl. The waitresses all walked out and sang her happy birthday. My daughter about cried. The waitress came for the bill and asked how everything was and I commented about my daughter’s birthday. She offered yo bring her cream and could get everyone yo sing but by this point, my husband and son went to the car. Daughter wanted ice cream so I alone sang her the loneliest happy birthday song. Needless to say next year she wants to go to Texas Roadhouse where they will sing to her and put a hat on her.
This used to be a favorite place, but I don’t think I can go there and not be upset that they made my daughter feel unimportant and sad on her actual birthday.
