Ate here for a quick lunch. We ordered off the lunch menu. We got the steak hibachi and the two sushi roll special. For a lunch menu item, the steak hibachi was a lot of food. Two people could probably eat it. The sushi rolls were tasty (spicy tuna and salmon skin) but not anything Earth shattering. The waitress was nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean. It is deceptively larger than it appears from the outside. If you are hungry for hibachi or sushi, it’s worth a shot.

Usually my fiance and I love orderering to-go from here and enjoying a nice date night together, but this last visit we decided to go in to eat instead and oh, how one server turned a lovely date day into a complete waste. We usually share a steak hibachi with only broccoli for the vegetables and our server today Onyx I believe is her name wrote down no veggies even though we made sure to specify it twice along with charging us additional fried rice even though she was the one who talked us out of that option. When we brought up those 2 issues she stated “I’m not trying to argue” just after saying that was not what I had said. We come here often for to-gos so I know how to phrase our order really well. So completely dissatisfied with her service and attitude, completely left us appalled and almost not wanting to come back.

Last few trips to Umi have not been great. Server last trip just forgot about our table. Had to go into the bar area and ask someone if they could check on our food after 45 minutes. They walked around the corner and came back with our food. It was room temp like it had just been sitting there. The server we had on the previous visit would not refill any drinks at the table and rolled her eyes when we asked for anything. Just felt like we were not welcome.
Food is usually pretty good but the service is bad enough to make it not worth it.

We are regular customers at Umis when they busy they mess up so bad even the manager with dreads got to be new. I specifically said please get the order right I told them exactly how what I wanted it and still got it wrong and had to redo it twice. We are done with Umis it’s just sad. The manager gave me a look like I don’t care nothing bout this order and repeatedly said they said in the back that this right. If you know how to ring up and order and charge someone know how that food suppose to look and be.

I went here for my birthday and it was an awesome experience! They were kind, generous, and super nice. They gave me a little ceramic bulldog bobblehead as a birthday gift along with some delicious ice cream! It was super awesome and I felt at home.
Now, regarding the food, I had the steak and chicken hibachi, and let me tell you, that was the most delicious piece of steak I have ever eaten. I don’t know how or why it was so good, but it was absolutely mind blowing. Everything about my experience here was top-notch and I highly recommend it for a nice dinner or for a celebration!

The hibachi is great. The spring roll appetizer was meh.
The lunch hibachi special comes with soup and salad.
The price for two lunch meals and an appetizer came out to just above $20 per person after the tip.

My fiancée and I eat here often and have for all of our years in college. Unfortunately, he did get salmonella poisoning a few months ago from the chicken in his fried rice. We have had other issues with servers not checking on tables, consistently forgetting things, orders coming out wrong. The food when the chicken is cooked is actually pretty good and the food can be quick even when the server doesn’t come around often. For us, we don’t eat here anymore because of how outrageously sick my fiancée got after he ate his chicken at umi. Check your food and make sure it is COOKED.

Solid run of the mill hibachi place. No complaints and nothing to write home about. I would go back when the hibachi craving hits me and the family again. Sushi was good, but most things were cooked in some way or had cream cheese. Overall though, it was great!
