First time at Umi,food and service was great. I was unaware it is a Japanese restaurant. It was a different eating experience for us,the rice and potatoes were not our usual sides. I now know why most Japanese people are skinny!Lol The portions are small. It was a definite splurge for us,this was the most money I have ever spent on a meal. Very tasty but too pricey for my budget. I am glad we tried this place, it’s a unique experience.

We stopped at Umi Fort Wayne for dinner and had a great time. The food was fresh and made to order. We got the appetizer sampler and everyone ended up getting the rice bows. There are a lot of options to the rice bows and the portions are huge! Big enough for two meals. They have a great bar with plenty of house cocktails, or you can order your favorite classic. The atmosphere is cozy and dark, but very comfortable for conversation.

This restaurant serves sushi and Japanese food in a very unique and delicious style. I thought the sushi rolls were a bit expensive when I saw the menu but they are not your typical sushi rolls and were worth the price. The bento box was amazing and the salmon was super fresh and perfectly cooked. I love this place and will definitely be going back.

The server was very conscientious and thoughtful regarding food allergies. The portions were large, and presentation impressive. Not a fan of the large carrots in the salad, but have seen comparable Asian food resteraunts do that as well. It’s awkward to eat.

Went here after our massages and we crushed. Our server was awesome and very helpful. My first time being there and it will not be my last. The red dragon roll, spicy chill, and the scallops/crab/shrimp over a bed of a sushi roll – the verve! It was sooo good! We loved the spice! Also, the edamame was really tasty and a great start to the meal!

Passing through Fort Wayne and decided to have dinner at Umi- glad we did! Excellent food and service. Really nice, modern atmosphere. We shared the lobster crab cakes which were excellent. My husband had the grilled salmon and I had the white fish dinner. Large servings for both of our dinners and beautiful plating. Both were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back whenever we are passing through!

We go as often as we can! Great food, terrific atmosphere and wonderful staff.
We usually opt for nigiri and a couple rolls and haven’t ventured out to the rest of their menu yet. Why mess with perfection?

Update: Not impressed with breakfast. Stick with the dinner.

The NEW breakfast menu is excellent! We highly recommend the s’mores pancakes. The coffee cakes were so good too. You can’t go wrong with their new breakfast menu. Something for everyone!

Specifically choose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary because they have Chilean sea bass and not many places do. The fish wasn’t hot and the portion was small but tasty. I choose a salad as my side but it was drowning in dressing then found out the meal comes with a huge salad not a vegetable. Hubby’s roll was very good. $100 for 2 meals, one beer and tip. I think we’ll choose a different place next time. Atmosphere and service are good.
Note: we went early because we had plans that evening and it was nearly empty so no reason to serve the food barely warm. Disappointed
