Came for happy hour – enjoyed it.
Food- highly recommend the salmon and the grilled robatas as they do it really well here. I enjoyed the duck skewer, the Japanese sausage and the shishito peppers. I wish they have more robata items on happy hour. Handrolls and the two special rolls (Wagyu roll and hurricane rolls) are average not their strong suit. Gunkans were ok as well. Scallops are on point (highly recommend that one as well)
I would return to try their regular menu.
Service – super friendly staff, pretty fast at bringing the dishes out
Ambiance – love the vibes here, great for date nights and group 1-6 hangs.

Atmosphere gives off classy vibes but without the terribly expensive prices. These prices were actually decent for sushi, got a total of 5 things and a drink and it came to be $100. They have a parking lot with decent amount of space but it does get filled up quickly. Ume offers valet parking for $7. The sushi tasted fresh and they had a variety of drinks.

Went here last night for the first time. We were just walking down the Hike & Bike trail and figured we wanted sushi. So glad we stopped in. Tina was our server and she was a delight. The food was incredibly good. They have several cuts of fish which I haven’t seen hardly anywhere around here.
I have to say more than the food was the teamwork that impressed us. Everyone worked so well together. It was like precision clock work. Would love to go back. Give this place a try!

We went for my wife’s birthday and it was a wonderful experience. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about everything he brought out. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a night out or date night.

This is our new favorite sushi restaurant since we moved from Dallas 6 months ago and it is truly NEXT LEVEL! Love that the owner is onsite daily, the waitstaff is amazing and we love the ambiance of this restaurant. We did sit at the sushi bar on one of our visits and really enjoyed watching the chefs work.
The sushi is innovative, so fresh and the desserts are amazing! It is a bit pricey but well worth the quality and presentation of the food.
Our vegetarian daughter was even able to find yummy food to eat here. If we are not there weekly, we are there every other week.
The happy hour is also really good!
Thank you UME! We support you and we hope others will visit, enjoy and support you as well!

Best sushi in Houston. Make sure you sit at the sushi bar. Do you get to watch them cut each piece. It’s like watching art come to life.

We got scammed by the Valentines Day Menu. $125 for 15 courses is what the special menu said. We asked our waitress if it would be a good amount of food for 2 people and she highly recommended it. After 10 small plates of food came out we were informed that was the end of the food. Each dish/”course” was one piece of nigiri or the equivalent to one bite. So the plates we thought counted as one dish with 3 pieces of nigiri each counted as their own “course”. So 1 small plate = 3 “courses”. Worst of all, when we got the bill it was $125 per person… not for table. Unsure why this was advertised as a deal. Although the quality of food was good we are very unhappy with this experience

Nice intimate spot for decent sushi bites. Casual atmosphere but very clean with beautiful decor. Food was average, but served by amazing waitress. I recommend trying it out.
