Good hibachi, and the sushi looked yummy as well! I will try that next time. I went for lunch during the week. It seemed the majority of business was take out, as there were only a few tables occupied. They have capacity for small and it large groups. There is available parking among the nearby streets. The staff were welcoming and attentive to an extent. I I recommend the soup – especially on a cold day.

This is NOT Umami anymore, its Hibachi Express. They said different owners. So this review and stars are for Hibachi Express. (Umami would get a 1 star) Great prices! Fast, very good food and very good portions sizes for the price. Have not tried the sushi yet. Will be eating here again weekly.

Great food, possibly the best Japanese in town. Bento boxes are a personal favorite. Once I got a little sick from what I think was the sushi but I understand that can happen anywhere. It’s always quiet and quick. Service can sometimes be a bit off but they really try.

Very quiet, not much interaction from the staff. From being out of state this had good reviews. I’m sadly disappointed and the food was just “okay”. My friend got sad looking sushi with barely any rice on them. Wish this place lived up to the reviews before coming here. The employees were on their phones and didn’t notice me standing waiting for my bill. Sadly won’t come back.

50/50, great sushi for a lunch, if you get delivery or pick up. when you go in, and set at the sushi bar. i get the feeling that i wasn’t wanted there. they tried to rush me. the young sushi chef is nice, but the one girl that is the hostess/waitress with dual color hair is extremely rude. but if you want my opinion, go over to the capital market and get sushi from the sushi Garden. better quality and better customer service. but not a great place to dine. but i’m big fans of both of these places sushi. just wished the dine in experience was a little bit better.

very disappointed — went there for the first time last night– there were 4 adults and one child — none of the dinners came out at the same time we ordered Hibachi. There were flies in the dining room that kept landing on our food and one took up residency in my drink. The food was only fair — meat cold –my husband ordered a beer that on the menu had a price of $4.50 and we were charged $8.00. I guess if you like sushi it might be good. I thought the prices were high around $20.00 per entree and they do not do their food Hibachi Style where it is cooked at the table. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!

I’ve only eaten here once, and while the food was pretty good, the inside of the restaurant is disgusting! I have no idea how this place doesn’t have tons of health code violations! I can’t believe I didn’t get sick after eating here. I would NOT recommend this restaurant AT ALL! If you like Hibachi restaurants, Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse in Southridge is AWESOME and appears to be very clean!

First off, the lady who answered the phone was rude when taking our order. We had accumalatively 7 orders. So they made plenty enough money from us. We’re a hospital floor so we’re not particularly picky when it comes to food and it was the WORST hibachis Ive ever eaten in my life. The food was such small proportion. We all know hibachi food isn’t cheap but you’re suppose to get a good portion amount naahhh not at all!! The salad was legit just lettuce. The rice let’s not even start on the rice. Over peppered lacking soy sauce. Their idea of “veggies” is two steams of broccoli. They forgot our order of rice and NEVER brought it to us even after I called them. NEVER will they receive our business again.

Extremely disappointed today…stopped in for lunch…no one at the front counter for a solid 5 mins….when someone did appear, she took another 10 mins to process departing customers and then directed me to find a table on my own…..had to retrieve my own menu, no table prep, nothing. Sat there for 15 mins, no one ever came to take my order., was the only customer sitting in the tables for about half that time. 25 min and I had exactly one sentence from the staff and no order submitted. judging from other recent reviews, this has become something of a trend for them My lunch isnt long enough to lose 30 mins and not even get the order started; It will be a while before I consider returning again. There are other places that are a bit further away, but will seat me immediately and take my order. Shame that a place with such promise is not being better represented.
