Food is not worth the cost. I ordered a salmon roll. The rainbow roll is not a traditional rainbow roll. Found it had a piece of plastic from their roller still on my plate. Felt tied between eating the miso and seaweed salad or leaving it because I paid so much for it. Did not finish the miso or seaweed. Unsatisfied with the food quality. Service people are nice.

RUN away from this place, it took them an hour to get ONE roll out, the place was empty so it’s wasn’t because of a rush. A few people were finishing eating and they said it was over an hour for them as well. The sushi is horrible (obviously), the fish tasted old and dry, they have terrible hygiene issues and they simply do not care. A 20% gratuity is forced upon you as a cherry on the top. This airport NEEDS to do/be better, this is embarrassing. Alex is a great Manager and refunded us. Sue on the other hand…

I’m a flight attendant for Delta Air Line and every time I pass through Fort Lauderdale Airport I usually treat myself to food from UMAIZUSHI. I’ve always enjoyed the food and have recommended this place to many coworkers over time, which is why today’s experience was so disappointing.

On 03/06/26 around 2 PM, I had about 30 minutes between flights to grab something quickly before heading to my next flight. I had talked about this place so much earlier in the day that I convinced several members of my crew to come with me and grab food as well.

When we arrived, the restaurant didn’t appear overwhelmingly busy. There were about five people at the bar, four or five in the seating area, and about four of us waiting for to-go orders. To help move things along, I placed my order using the QR code ordering system.

Right after placing my order, I went over to the register to politely ask for two sides of spicy sauce—one for myself and one for my coworker. I stood there for over 20 minutes while multiple staff members walked past me without acknowledging me or asking if I needed help.

Eventually, I got the attention of a tall older gentleman working primarily behind the bar around the 2 PM shift who occasionally stepped into the prep area to assist staff. Since I didn’t catch his name, this is the best description I can provide. I kindly asked him if I could get two sides of the spicy sauce.

I watched him pour one sauce cup, close the lid, and hand it to me. I politely repeated that I needed two, and he dismissively responded that he had already poured a lot in there, handed it to me, and walked away. His tone and body language felt very dismissive. The interaction was noticeable enough that people standing nearby reacted—one woman even laughed and said, “Wow, that wasn’t very nice.”

He continued to ignore me when I tried to get his attention again. After another 10 minutes, I asked another employee for help. She told me the sauce needed to be refilled and it would take a moment. I explained that I had already asked her coworker earlier but had been dismissed. She eventually brought the second sauce, but there was no acknowledgment or apology for the situation.

By the time my coworker and I received our food, almost 40 minutes had passed, which is extremely difficult when you’re working with a tight flight schedule.

Before leaving, I calmly approached the gentleman to explain why the interaction bothered me. As someone who also works in customer service, I explained that I interact with 400–500 passengers a day and completely understand how busy and stressful service environments can be. My intention was simply to make him aware that the interaction came across as rude and dismissive.

His response was essentially “okay?”, while looking at the sauce in my hand, as if the issue didn’t matter because I eventually received it. He then exchanged a look with the employee who had given me the second sauce that made it feel as though my concern was unreasonable.

I always try to give people grace because you never know what someone might be going through, and I extended that grace knowing they were busy. Unfortunately, I was met with attitude and dismissive behavior instead.

I’ve recommended this restaurant to many coworkers in the past, but after today’s experience I will not be returning or recommending it to other crew members traveling through FLL.

I hope management can look into what happened during the 2 PM timeframe on 03/06/26, as the service I experienced today did not reflect the level of professionalism I would expect.

This is the worst spicy tuna roll I ever had.
The fish was not fresh and I wanted to vomit right after. Avoid so you don’t get sick!

It’s definitely airport food but it wasn’t terrible. I’ve had worse from a grocery store. The server was very nice but it does take a while. They do have plugs on the counter for charging which is a perk while you’re waiting for flights. The Poke bowl was just enough to tide me over but I wouldn’t call it enough for a meal on its own. The seaweed salad was good though.

There really is no bar in this terminal so this is it, but the food here is not very good. Had the Philadelphia Roll, it was not very tasty, the rice was way too sticky and just not a lot of taste. The staff here is very disinterested.

Folks, its not a real sushi restaurant. Rather an overpriced bar that sells pre cooked disgusting sushi. The customer services is worse than what you would expect at an airport. Be cautious here, sushi is terrible, customer service is abysmal. Use your money for the better. Go elsewhere.

Look. You’re at the airport, and terminal 2 is super tiny. If you want to sit and have a cocktail, your options are pretty slim. The food – and beer – are gonna be better at Shake Shack for sure, but you can’t sit at a bar and wait until boarding time there. This is pretty much your choice, and it does its job OK.

You can sit at a bar. You can get a drink. And airport sushi is better than gas station sushi, if only marginally so.

I wasn’t aware that at an “international” airport they’re could still be racial profiling. I was sitting away from everyone in the corner for at least 1hr 30 min not bothering a single soul. I was told abruptly that I had to leave because it was a part of the restaurant. No signs, or no evidence of that was visible, and I saw “others” sitting there prior to me eating whatever they purchased from any vendor/food spot etc…. I get it though. I was “effecting” their precious business with my black presence and comfortable skin. Will not recommend and a place like that, but who am I…..

INCREDIBLY slow and incompetent. The guys at the counter said they can only take take-out orders online. So they made us order online. Then we proceeded to wait 30 mins, standing there. When we asked, they told us they didn’t get our order….. (ya probably because they didn’t bother checking…) and they didn’t bother to check up on us while we were standing there, knowing we placed an order online. So passive and rude. Needless to say the food was trash. Should have gone with other food options….
