Great stuff here!! Arrived before dinner time and was seated immediately. The gal taking care of us was superb from start to finish.

Tonkotsu was fantastic!! Squid legs also good. Cucumbers a bit bland and could have used a little something extra. Vinegar for a bit of a twang, or otherwise. Steamed dumplings seemed pan fried. Good though.

The ambience and decor is exactly what I’d want from a place like this. Perfect.

Got a small ramen with the spicy noodles to go, just to try it. It was so good!

Can’t wait to go back and try more from this place!!

UmaiDo is already well-known as one of the best ramen spots in Atlanta, and after visiting, I completely understand why.
The interior is cozy and charming, and the restaurant was packed with customers — always a good sign. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a comforting bowl of ramen.
What really impressed me was the tempura. Crispy on the outside, light and perfectly cooked on the inside — not greasy at all. Honestly, I would say it’s one of the best tempura I’ve had in Georgia.
The ramen itself was excellent. The broth was rich yet clean, the noodles had the perfect texture, and every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh. You can tell they pay close attention to quality and cleanliness.
Overall, a place that truly cares about their food and their customers. Definitely coming back whenever I crave ramen in Atlanta.

There was a long wait for the food and the ramen was too salty for me. But the other food was fine. The employees were very nice but it was just tiring to wait I understand that it was the weekend dinner time so I recommend getting a reservation if you can.

They were very busy, so we had to wait a bit for our table. Service was excellent. They were very kind and efficient. We ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork and kimchi ramen cones with chicken garlic katsu. We added the kakuni (braised pork belly) topping.

The broth was rich and delicious, and the components cooked very well. This last minute dining decision was a good one! Umaido continues to be one of our favorites.

Ordered the lunch combo which gives you any Ramen and a selection of salad, sushi roll or other items. This was not only DELICIOUS but a great deal! I’m pretty sure the noodles are made fresh too, because the flavor of the ramen was phenomenal.

Past that, service was also great. I showed up while they were busy, but they found a spot for me and the server was always moving or working. This is a great restaurant that I absolutely recommend.

A small hole-in-the-wall Japanese place with good ramen and okay rice dishes. We waited a bit for a table since the place is small.

I ordered the shrimp katsu curry, and it came in decent quantity, but the curry was way too thin. The flavor was good and the shrimp well fried, but the curry fell short. My other friends enjoyed their ramen, though it’s the kind with thin noodles.

My wife and son will only go to Umaido for Ramen, so I have tagged along a few times now. They have other authentic dishes as well. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. This is a small and quaint place but everything is prepared fresh. If you understand their menu and their purpose then you will understand the look and aesthetics of the restaurant. Simple and good.

Enjoy!!!!!

Umaido offers great ramen and has been a go-to spot for me for over a decade. The seating is limited, so it can get crowded, but it’s always worth the wait. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making the dining experience even better. I also appreciate the bidet in the restroom, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic ramen!

TL;DR: Service was good but the Tonkatsu Ramen was very salty.

Arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy and we were seated promptly. We were able to place our order fairly quickly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The service was good and the atmosphere was fine.

I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen ($15.50). While the noodles and egg was nicely cooked, the broth was very salty – I mean very salty. If you have hypertension (high blood pressure), I would advise against ordering it. Be sure to drink plenty of water. Half the amount of salt probably would have sufficed.

Seeing as how this was my first visit here, I can’t say whether or not it’s normally this salty. I probably would not go back but would try other places instead.

I enjoy this place every time I come here! Broth is so creamy and noodles are always good the pork is always so tender and well flavored. Eggs are nice and soft. Pot stickers are delicious! After returning yet again… they still have great Ramen! I think I found my favorite! Wasabi and roasted pork with garlic!
