we did not make a reservation but managed to get a table (had an early dinner around 6.30pm) it was a 30 min wait for our pot of seafood rice but it was so worth being patient for! the rice perfectly cooked and the seafood flavours were exceptional; it was like a very hearty home cooked meal. we also tried a local wine which paired perfectly with the food. not only was the food excellent but so was the service!! will definitely be back if we are in lisbon again!

Such a charming and cozy little restaurant. You definitely need to come early — otherwise, there’s usually a line.

We ordered the bread as an appetizer and the baby cuttlefish, then shared one portion of the seafood rice. Even with just one serving, the portion was generous and more than enough for us. We finished every last bite!

The complimentary cherry liqueur was absolutely delicious.
Highly recommended if you’re visiting Lisbon.

I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend pairing it with the little Gallo chili oil on the side. They’re generous with the seafood, the rice is perfectly soft, and the seasoning is just right. (And I love that in Portugal you can get this kind of seafood rice in a single portion — so great for solo travelers.) Perfect spot if you’re traveling on your own!

Susma was our server, and she took care of us very kindly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the seafood rice had crab in it, which made the flavor richer and deeper than at other places. We also had gambas, and I highly recommend ordering extra bread — at least twice if you like it!

Susma noticed that we were Korean and greeted us warmly. She thoughtfully asked how the food was, offered piri-piri sauce, and provided wet wipes and other small details with great care. Thanks to the delicious food and her kindness, we were able to enjoy a very pleasant lunch☺️

️ UMA Marisqueira | Excellent Seafood Experience in Lisbon

We had a fantastic meal at UMA Marisqueira in Lisbon — a true paradise for seafood lovers. Every dish highlighted the freshness of the ingredients and authentic Portuguese flavors.

Arroz de Marisco (Seafood Rice)
Rich, aromatic, and packed with generous portions of fresh seafood. The rice absorbed all the seafood essence perfectly, making it incredibly comforting and flavorful. A must-order.

Ensalada de Tentáculos (Tentacle Salad)
The octopus was tender and well-seasoned, dressed simply with olive oil and acidity that balanced the flavors beautifully. Light, fresh, and very well executed.

Gambas guillo (Shrimp with Garlic)
Juicy, perfectly cooked shrimp with fragrant garlic and olive oil. Simple but absolutely delicious, especially when paired with bread to soak up the sauce.

Sepias pequeñas al estilo del Algarve (Baby Cuttlefish Algarve-style)
Clean, tender baby cuttlefish with a lovely Algarve-style seasoning. Full of character and very moreish — we couldn’t stop eating it.

A final after-dinner drink provided the perfect, elegant finish to an outstanding dining experience.

Overall, excellent food quality, fresh seafood, generous portions, and friendly, efficient service. Whether it’s your first time in Lisbon or you’re looking for a reliable, authentic seafood restaurant, UMA Marisqueira is highly recommended.

Special thanks to Nick, Sashi, and Ramzi for their professional and attentive service.

I had a seafood rice here on 24 February 2026. The crab tasted a bit pale, and the shrimp tasted average. However, the mussels and squid tasted better and more flavoured than shrimp and crab. I felt the rice tasted better after it cooled down a little bit. The service was quite nice as a staff gave a clamp for me as help when I had already eaten part of the crab claw. The staff Shila gave me a shot of cherry wine for free at the end of my meal, which tasted quite nice.

We went to Uma for lunch and had a great experience. The octopus salad was fresh and full of flavor. The house rice and seafood dish was worth ordering. It was tasty, reasonably priced, and generous, with a good variety of seafood.

The décor is simple, but it has an authentic, family-restaurant feel. If you love seafood, don’t hesitate to give this place a try.

I wanted to dine in the original place. I had made a reservation and arrived on time. I was told the place was full and was taken to another place managed by them called Cataplana Portuguese restaurant nearby. The arroz de marisco was delicious but was a bit less in salt and needed a bit more spices. I had asked for the piri piri sauce just to enhance the flavour. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lot of sea food in the dish. Also the sea food payella was nice and the kids loved it.

They serve very limited dishes . Their seafood rice was just amazing. Especially, if you add a bit of their chilli oil. Their service is very good as well. Nick who served us was very nice and friendly. A must visit place if you are in Lisbon.
