Replicate the Magic
If you do one “dessert stop” in Maui, make it shave ice, and for us this one lived up to the hype. The ice is unbelievably fine, the flavors taste bright instead of syrupy, and it’s the kind of treat that instantly resets your whole day when it’s hot out. We would come back again and again.

Ululani’s is my absolute favorite shaved ice spot! I make it a point to visit a location no matter which island I’m on. My go-to flavors are calamansi, guava, and passion fruit, so refreshing and delicious! This location gets really busy, and we waited over 30 minutes for our dessert, but it’s always worth the wait.

Ululani is a big name in shaved ice and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve had shaved ice at other spots but I found the taste to be better here than anywhere else. They take pride in coverage of ice with syrup and offer to refill if they miss a spot. There was a long line on new year’s day and we got just in time. It took almost an hour before we reached the window. We got lava flow with roselina macadamia nut ice-cream and dragon fruit /guava/passionfruit with vanilla ice-cream. The syrup was really tasty and they got the full ice covered. The ice was noticeably shaved finer than anywhere else. I have commend on the quality of the icecream too – it was rich, creamy and smooth. It was a delight to come here and spend our evening.

Ululani’s is hands down the best shave ice I’ve ever had. The ice is unbelievably soft and fluffy—more like fresh snow than ice—making every bite melt perfectly in your mouth. Popular shaved ice spot with multiple locations. Came here for an afternoon sweet treat and ordered the Local Motion with the snow cap and macadamia nut ice cream. The Ulu size was good for two and we really enjoyed the mixture of the condensed milk with the shaved snow. You pay and order first before receiving your order. They have a free parking lot. Be careful with the birds because they are aggressive in trying to steal a bite of your dessert.

This place had a lot of hype for being the best on the island. We didn’t have much to compare it to on Maui, other than reading several reviews. I can imagine if you’re a shaved ice connoisseur, this could be rated up there. We, however, have had shaved ice at home that seemed pretty equivalent. We waited about an hour and for the wait, we weren’t overly impressed. It was good, with beautiful presentation, but it didn’t make us feel like we’d go back and wait an hour for it all over again.

Fantastic shaved ice! I’ve been told the wait can be hours but was glad it was only a few minutes for me. Got the POG (passion-orange-guava) with toasted coconut and mochi and loved it. Staff was awesome and friendly.

The Ululani location in Kihei truly impressed us. With so many options, the staff’s helpful suggestions made all the difference. They recommended the passion guava mango orange shaved ice with coconut ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious! The service and shaved ice were top-notch, and I highly recommend Ululani to anyone.

1 hour wait for heaven in your mouth. We got a Hawaiian root beer float with toasted coconut and a coconut mango passion fruit. Omgosh please stop here. The people were friendly and made conversation to make all customers feel like they mattered ♡
