We went here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it was worth every penny! I got the sake flight paired with the meal and he got a Japanese whiskey flight. The food was incredible, and the drinks were amazing. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable and we were in another world for the 2 hours we were there and still can’t stop talking about it!

It was a wonderful dining experience. Everything from the ambiance, to the drinks, to the food was well done. The coursed menu was so fun and thoughtful. Totally worth it for any special occasion of night out.

UNBELIEVABLE. Almost no words. Full on EXPERIENCE from beginning to end. From Vanessa welcoming us, to Paul and the other chefs taking us on a journey through the food, to Jeremiah bringing us all around Asia via Sake and Japanese whiskey. Do NOT miss this! They also have incredible Tuna nights the first Tuesday of the month! New menus every season so you can keep coming back. Such a memorable date night, special occasion, or just anyone who’s really into food.

I’ve been to Ukiyo Omakase twice now, and each visit has been such a memorable experience. The team always finds a way to surprise me with unique, playful flavor combinations that make each course feel special. You can tell a lot of thought went into designing the space—it’s not just beautiful, but also cozy and inviting. Even the restroom has great lighting and a stylish touch!

One of the highlights for me was the tuna experience. Watching the chef skillfully break down a giant tuna right in front of us was unforgettable—and the tuna itself was incredibly fresh and flavorful.

If you’re looking for a sushi experience that’s thoughtful, exciting, and consistently high-quality, Ukiyo is a must. I’ll definitely be back again!

Truly unforgettable. Ukiyo delivers one of the most thoughtfully curated omakase experiences in Denver, and it shows in every bite. My date and I opted for the sake pairing and were blown away by the balance and precision of flavors from start to finish.

The atmosphere is intimate and feels like a well kept secret. Every course was plated beautifully and introduced with care — from the house-baked bread with whipped butter to the perfectly executed seafood and meat dishes, each bite told a story. The sake pairings elevated the entire experience and were spot-on with each progression of the meal.

This place is a gem. If you’re looking for an elevated, intentional, and truly delicious omakase in Denver, this is it. 10/10.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere vibey yet intimate. The small sushi bar made the experience feel personal and engaging. The food was creative and delicious, and the chefs were not only skilled but also great conversationalists, which added to the charm.

That said, given the high price point, I was expecting to be a bit more wowed. While everything was solid, I’ve had similarly priced tasting menus that felt more memorable. There are also more affordable omakase spots in town that I enjoy just as much, if not more.

Wonderful omakase experience in downtown Denver! Ukiyo really nails it with a wonderfully intimate dining experience. Two hours where you just get to sit back, relax and enjoy a beautifully curated multi course dinner. From the fun of finding the restaurant through a discreet back alley entrance to getting greeted warmly with option of NA or cocktail as you’re taken downstairs to an intimate dining space – the guest experience is so well thought out and executed. The interiors are simple and refined. The staff are experts at what they do. The beverage manager was well versed in the beverage menu and although not a Japanese whiskey drinker- it was a joy to hear him speak and learn about the whiskeys with other guests. Chef had an impressive coursed dinner. Loved hearing the process and details behind what we were seeing and devouring. There was many moments of silence! That good! I loved the unique spins and unexpected flavor twists throughout dinner. I left fully stuffed! Even the Japanese toilet in the WR is a pleasant feature! Look forward to future visits!

A fantastic experience all around. Great food and service.

TL;DR, 4.25/5 – food is really excellent, but I think it was pretty expensive for not leaving full. Include the service charge in the base $175/person price and we will be talking. The quality is absolutely there I think this is a significantly better use of your money than going over going to somewhere like Uchi or Sushi Den.

This is of course a pretty expensive meal and the service charge of 22% is mandatory up front. So it’s somewhere around $230 per person all in, not $175. Cocktails are also not included, so be prepared to spend north of $250 per person if you want one.

I think the cost here is actually fair. It isn’t a bargain. It isn’t disgustingly overpriced (unless I am comparing this price to overseas prices, but that is unfair in my opinion here).

The food was great. It’s definitely on the line of Japanese-world fusion so there are a lot of really interesting flavors here with a baseline of Japanese presentation.

You get ~15 small dishes throughout the dinning experience and it takes roughly 2-2.5 hours.

I did not leave full. Maybe that doesn’t matter to you as this is more of an experience, but to me, that’s partially what keeps it from being a full 5/5

I loved the small, intimate space reminiscent of so many Japanese eateries and bars I’ve been to over there. The chefs were excellent and provided a comfortable space and social experience which really elevated everything.
