I’m from the DC area and I came here for the first time with my girlfriend and two of my friends. I want to say hands down this was a great 1st time experience for Omakase. Each round was progressively becoming tastier with each bite. You can definitely taste the freshness, flavor and richness each course. Our experience was unexpectedly enhanced with Jason. Jason made our experience feel more authentic and personalized. Even though it was our first time meeting him, it felt like I saw a friend who I hadn’t seen in years. My girlfriend and my friends are definitely looking forward to our next visit here. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience. See you guys next time!

Best omakase experience! All of the fish was very fresh and delicious. Some fish I thought I didn’t like previously, but the quality here was so good I changed my mind while eating. Same thing with the wasabi – I typically don’t like it, but it was hand ground fresh and paired perfectly with the fish. The taste was amazing as well as the presentation. Everything was presented beautifully and on designer dinnerware. The VIP counter felt like such a luxe experience. Service was amazing as well. The chef was very attentive and noticed I was getting full, so he offered to put less rice for me. Highly recommend coming for VIP omakase!! I would love to come again soon!

@nyc_omakase has officially visited Uka!
We thoroughly enjoyed the 16 courses, each felt flavorful and great cuts of fish. The place is lively, more casual, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this and will be back before a night out with friends – it’s the perfect ambiance. Plus the house sake was delicious. Really loved it thank you!!!!!

$56 for 15 courses with this quality?! that’s insanee. The beli rating is 8.5, thats when I know the food’s gona be great!!!

That said, don’t expect a super luxurious omakase experience at this price point (which is completely reasonable). We did feel a little rushed toward the end of the course, and as you can see they were stacking the sushi pieces. I think that is totally fine though if you didn’t have expectations for a luxurious omakase experience (outside of the food).

Given the sushi quality with this pricing, it is definitely worth a try!!!

Uka Omakase delivered such a memorable experience. We did the 16-piece omakase course, and each piece felt intentional, balanced, and beautifully presented. Some of my favorites were the fatty tuna, the piece topped with foie gras, and the eel. What really stood out was how the fish was flavored. Several pieces had different accents like citrus zest, a hint of lime, or a touch of chili, which added depth and made each bite feel unique without overpowering the quality of the fish.

We also enjoyed refreshing cocktails and really delicious sake, which paired perfectly with the courses. The overall experience felt elevated, creative, and well thought out from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend Uka Omakase for a special night out, a date, or anyone looking for a refined sushi experience in NYC.

In my quest to try all the affordable omakases in the city, I found Uka omakase and was excited to try it out. Be sure to make a reservation! Our timing was full and it was right when they opened. We went during their “happy hour” timing and so got a discount on a bottle of sake. They are also very generous and offer a complimentary cup or two of their house sake to the guests.

Overall, we weren’t that blown away by the experience. We liked the variety of flavors and topping choices for some of the pieces. The fish also seemed decent quality. Our reservations lie in inconsistencies in the final sushi pieces that were served, and also the sizes of the pieces. I’ve been to a handful of budget omakase places now and this place had by far the smallest pieces. The size of the fish also had a lot of variety, even between the sizes served to our party. We had a lady next to us with a bright light who was filming and photographing all the pieces and we definitely felt that her pieces seemed a bit larger at times.

In summary, Uka omakase wasn’t bad but I think I would recommend other omakase places first.

The atmosphere is stylish with a dark, modern interior, and the counter seating makes it feel intimate and special. Our sushi chef was super cool and trendy, which made the experience even more fun and unique.

We ordered the $56 classic omakase, which has been upgraded to include wagyu, and it came with 16 courses: yellowtail sashimi, soup, 12 pieces of sushi (including madai, gindara, zuke akami, chu toro, double otoro, kampachi, shima aji, seabass, hotate, salmon with foie gras, unagi, and wagyu with truffle salt), a toro handroll, and ice cream for dessert. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared.

What I really appreciated is that the sushi had a perfect balance, not too much rice, so you can really enjoy the quality of the fish. The portions were generous, and for the price, the value is amazing.

Came here for lunch with my wife. They offer a 10 piece omakase for <$40. The fish were fresh and tasty. For the price, it was an excellent deal even if the fish for the nigiri were a touch thinner. We order 2 extra pieces each a la carte, chutoro and otoro which were both excellent.
Service was good. A tiny quibble which is that they could be a little more consistent in describing each dish.
Overall a neighborhood gem and we would recommend this place.

Came for Lunar New Year. One of the best omakase spots in nyc, esp for the price, and they gave us free sake shots! Better (and cheaper) than Shinn West imo. With tip and the à la carte piece, it was like $82 total. Would 11/10 come back again!

Vibes are great, and they have purse hooks under the bar seats! We had to specifically ask for wasabi and soy sauce. They rushed us to leave at the end tho :/

– 16 course omakase ($56): 11/10, all the pieces were SO good and fresh. The wasabi was great quality. Fav courses were the hamachi, gindara, zuke akami (lean tuna), hotate (scallop), unagi, and matcha ice cream. I’ve never had a scallop nigiri that I’ve loved bc it’s usually chewy or too fishy/slimy, but the piece here was HEAVENLY – changed my mind about raw scallops!! The matcha ice cream at the end was insanely creamy and rich too, not too sweet!
– Free sake shot: 11/10, I haven’t tried much same, but it went down so smoothly and was one of the better ones I’ve had. They filled my shot glass to the brim, and it’s def at least two shots worth
– Gindara ($8): 11/10, was so good that my friend and I both ordered this as an extra at the end of omakase. This was our fav piece, and the texture and flavor reminds me of unagi
– Complimentary mint: Cute! They gave it to us when we left

*Note: If you make a reservation for 5 pm or 8:45 pm, you get a free bottle of sake for every 2 people

Absolutely love this omakase experience, been here multiple times for their regular and VIP experience and does not dissappoint every single time. Uka always has the highest quality fish, each course is executed perfectly. You will never leave here hungry looking for late night snack. Perfect for a date or a birthday party, they will be able to accomodate. Staff is always amazing as always. My go-to omakase spot in NYC.

Looking forward to the special valentines day event next month!
