This may be the best place in all of Phoenix for amazing Japanese cuisine. Lets start with the service, extremely friendly, probably some of the best service we’ve experienced at a restaurant in the Phoenix area ever. 10/10. Next the appetizers, the grilled hamachi was very good, seasoned well and extremely melt in your mouth tender. The gyoza was fantastic as well, very flavorful! 10/10.

Pretty good sushi. Been going there since it opened. Recently they started combining sushi orders into one box without telling you. So when we get home to eat we have to take it all apart as each of my family members order different rolls for themselves. I mentioned this to them twice but I don’t think they care. Still… will keep going to them until I find better

Really enjoyed it. Hubbs and I came for date night, they had a sign on the door that they were having A/C issues and it was low 80s inside, but the staff was very attentive to making sure we had plenty of water. Our rolls were amazing and the service was excellent- speedy and professional. Definitely returning.

Delicious! Had the #50 Ugly Tuna special roll, most expensive on the menu. It was fabulous. We also had the #10 Eel something delicious roll. Started off with a tasty seaweed salad. Will bring real estate clients here for sure! Please like & follow if this helps you.

I recently visited Ugly Tuna and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. The presentation of the sushi was beautiful and the flavors were well balanced. I particularly enjoyed the namesake “Ugly Tuna Roll”, which had just the right amount of heat to complement the richness of the tuna and tobiko. Another favorite was the spicy and fresh “Salmon Geisha Roll”. I would recommend Ugly Tuna for a delicious sushi dining experience.

What an unexpected delight! I’ve had sushi all over the world – Ugly Tuna was undoubtedly one of the best! And in the middle of the desert – who knew? We spoke with the owner/manager who clearly knows how to make customers happy with great service and superior sushi and sashimi. We over-ordered because it was so delicious, and we didn’t want to stop eating !
