We arrived late to NOLA on Sunday and wanted to find something quick & of good value. The Ugly Dog Saloon delivered and then some. We were very impressed with the food, especially based on the prices.

We enjoyed a combo meal on our first night. We returned for a snack a couple of nights later and enjoyed the nachos. Then today shared a burger and the ribs which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The staff were very friendly which contributed to us wanting to return as well as the convenience of staying a 5 minute walk away.

If you’re looking for good value BBQ food & friendly service then this is a great spot.

One of the bars in the neighborhood of the warehouse district, it was recommended by a local so we wanted to give it a try! We went in during the lunch hour on a weekday and the place was fairly empty with a few of us getting something to eat. I went with a brisket panini and my boyfriend had the nachos. The bartender was super hospitable and we appreciated the decor, vibe of the saloon, & the seating area outside probably is really popular in the evenings and weekends. Lot of great choices, delicious food, & reasonable prices on the menu!

The ribs were the best thing we tried. They were not “fall off the bone” but they were flavorful.Did not care for the cheddar biscuits, did not have flavor and was dense, the pulled pork was a mix of some pieces being soft and others almost caramelized and chewy like beef jerky. The rib tips seemed salty and dry. The Mac and cheese was very bland, but I got through it by adding bbq sauce. The bartender was nice and friendly. We did not have to wait too long for the food. The mayo bottles sit out with the condiments all day long- eek! Tables were all sticky. I get it’s a dive bar vibe but I would think food safety code would be maintained.

The look of food looks mediocre, but the taste was horrible. I got takeout and walked 10 minutes away, and yet the food was cold not warm, COLD. The mac n cheese was the worst I ever had! The only thing I got that was good was the potato salad. The burnt ends was okay, the pulled pork was meh, and the biscuit was TOO dry and very cold. I would avoid this place and get food elsewhere.

I never really think of barbecue when I come to New Orleans but I was really surprised by this bar like barbecue place.
I will let my pictures do the talking very different, Very good. Loved the burnt ends, biscuits were amazing a meal in itself, the french fries and the coleslaw Working at the convention center this is very easy to get to and convenient, fast service will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Great restaurant and bar located in the heart of New Orleans! Great food and drinks! Service was excellent and very friendly! We shared the New Orleans Style BBQ Smoked Ribs and they were fantastic! Also had a side salad that was really good. Clean establishment with a great atmosphere. Very well run restaurant! Highly recommend stopping here for a drink or meal when you are in the downtown New Orleans area!

Some great BBQ. Really loved the smoked wings and burnt tips were amazing. I ate lots for lunch as I needed to try a few different things. Cajun sausage was ok but personally I wouldn’t order again based on wings and burnt tips. If you like BBQ check it out, always great to get some good BBQ as that is lacking in Calgary, AB Canada.

The food was pretty good here. The staff was really nice and the place has a really relaxed atmosphere. The coleslaw was really good. It has a homemade sauce on it that you can’t get anywhere else. The fries are really good too. I’ve never seen fries liked that anywhere else. The burnt end sandwich was not bad.

Some of the BEST beans I’ve ever had in this country hands down! Sweet, spicy, oh so much flavor I will definitely come back just for the beans! Service was great and friendly and the gator sausage was new to me and quite flavorful! Great combo, highly recommend! Plus they have a decent selection of alcohol
