It’s a friendly place for vegetarians. Yummy, but a little bit of spicy food. It’s kind of hard to find parking; also, their restroom is narrow. Want to visit again next time.

I loved the vegan option that had all the varieties of dishes in one (#12 thali vegan version). Loved them all! The vegetables had a fresh taste to them too. Would come back for sure!!!

Chicago Udipi Palace was 1 star this is slightly better and so 2 star. The Vada was decent. Idli was chewy. Dosa was ok. Masala was no good. Sambar was watery. Chutney was edible. That’s it. How are people liking this kind of flavor I sometimes wonder.

Listen up Berkeley! First of all – there’s not a lot of South Indian options here, and this place is great for a lot of reasons. Even when they’re packed (like my most recent experience here while UC Berkeley kids and families were moving in), they’re fast. We got served apps and our main courses very quickly. The food is delicious. I’ve had the dosas, idly, and others – very tasty. In terms of spice level – for folks who take off stars for spice level (white people!), c’mon! This is South Indian cuisine. It’s supposed to be spicy. You can always ask for a downgrade! And to knock off a star because of a small bathroom – again…. That’s a bit much (privilege!). Yes, I’m a white guy, and yes, this place is awesome. Treat yo’self.

Everything was delicious! Get the vada on the side so you can appreciate its perfect crispiness. The Mysore masala dosa was great, I recommend getting the Udupi combo. Paneer makhani was also delicious as well as the veg curry. The idlis are different from what I’m used to but so tender and I enjoyed them. The owners and employees are lovely and very accommodating for dietary restrictions and takeout requests. It was busy all the way until its closing hours even on a weekday. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike will enjoy! Highly recommended.

Udapi Palace has excellent vegetarian food and a wide selection from which to choose. All dishes are truly authentic and delicious! Our service was not very good, and that was frustrating. The atmosphere is rather stale as there is nothing unique or special about it. One goes there for the fantastic food!!

Their mysore masala dosa combo (comes with idli and vada) and thali are my favorite! Super friendly server – I told her I love their lemon chutney and she promised to give me extra the next time I’m there.
