I occasionally travel 40min to come here for lunch. South Indian food here Never disappoints. Here is a sample Rava dosa, Poori Bhaji and podi idly taken. Rava dosa is very crispy and perfectly roasted. Poori baaji is great. Coffee spot on! Do give it a try.

We have been visiting this restaurant for almost 20 years now. Lately the quality has dropped. The food is bland (mysore masala dosa was bland too). Half the items on the menu were not available and the lady at the counter was rude and unwelcoming. Pity to see a good restaurant go down the drain.

Standard counter service spot, but the food is excellent. Be prepared, it’s well-spiced! It’s a pit stop for many Indian Americans visiting a nearby Hindu temple. The dosa (ton of styles) and Gobi Manchurian were excellent. Love the sambar! The paneer masala dosa was great, but I wish it had just a bit more paneer.

Very close to Authentic Indian food. I could even say it was one of the best I had in CT. Yep, they are not into fancy presentation or such, but what else do you expect for such price. Come to Stamford or Darian and check the price if you are very much into fancy plating and great customer service, but food will be Americanized.

Imho, the taste here is very very bland. Since its a south Indian restaurant, I was at-least expecting the dosas, idlis, sambhar, chutneys to be of the finest taste and quality. I was wrong. We drove 25 miles to taste the South Indian cuisine, but we were disappointed.

You know it’s legit when it’s next to a temple. The vibe inside feels down to earth and cozy. I liked my bisi bele bhath more than the pav bhaji but that’s just preference. My partner got the dhosa which was excellent. Can’t wait to return and try new items!

It was my visit to Udupi Bhavan, and it was awesome. We tried a couple of dishes, mainly South Indian, like Plain masala dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Uttapam, Curd Rice, Besi Belli Bhat, tamarind Rice. We also Methi Matar Malai, Potato Bonda, Dahi Vada, and Vegetable Cutlet.

I never had Vegan Food at a place like this. My first experience in a place where they cook authentic vegan dishes. The dish I had was delicious and flavorful. I will definitely invite people to taste this experience.
