Absolutely spectacular dining experience. We arrived at 4.30 so we could take advantage of the happy hour. There are very decent highlights on offer including drinks and an omakase option. We ended up doing a mix of happy hour and main menu. Service was top notch despite the place being absolutely packed. The photos speak for themselves. Overall a 5 star experience all round and we will be back.

Walked in at 1:45PM alone on a Saturday for a late lunch. They said they didn’t have any seating available besides the bar. After I sat down at the bar, they started seating groups around the restaurant but perhaps they had reservations. I ordered the prix fixe lunch menu but the entree came out before the appetizer. I then ordered a salmon nigri and it took over half an hour to make it to me. First they explained it was because the sushi counter was understaffed and slammed. But then when it was made (the first time) it was delivered to the wrong table. I was the only one left sitting at the bar when it finally arrived and the restaurant/kitchen was already closed by then too. Not the seamless experience I expected from a place like this. My server did give me a $25 gift card and took off the salmon nigri from my check but I’m not sure I’d come back. I’m terms of the actual food, I think was good but trying to be elevated without an authentic Japanese foundation. It’s definitely over hyped and overpriced, best for the lunch special. I’d maybe recommend this place as a one-and-done kind of experience.

We were a group of 20 and was so grateful that they were able to accommodate us. Nicolette was amazing in curating a menu that met our budget. Everything we ordered was delicious! My favourite sushi were the scallop and mushroom nigiri. Also enjoyed the negi toro roll but found it a tad spicy. Will definitely be back!

Uchi is another level/ planet. New flavor combinations lead to explosions of the mind and taste buds! We have been to the Denver location twice before and now this location. Every meal has always ended up being a core memory and a wonderful time with family. This last meal…. you really can’t go wrong with anything at this restaurant. Nate was our sushi chef at the sushi bar. He and everyone else were amazing. The execution of these dishes are celebratory! Congrats to this amazing restaurant and team! Please come toto Santa Fe New Mexico ❤️ ⚡️

Not our first visit. Bar area is very chill vibes although can be a bit difficult to get bartender attention. Ordered 7 appetizers, a wine, a beer and a few sake shots. All the appetizers were amazing. I loved the sake and how it was served in a wooden box. Happy hour is amazing. Best grilled edamame. Only complaint is (and not attributed to the establishment I guess) is that couple next to us had too much & kept trying to interact. Next up was an arrogant guy demanding us to move seats as he wanted 4 seats at the bar… on a Friday nite … which is hard enough to get 2 hence we liked our corner seats specifically chosen. He kept demanding us to move. (Bartenders noticed & I feel they also wanted to urge us to move as well otherwise they should have stepped in and offered compensation for us to move all our drinks, food, dishes, purse, coats, napkins and just stared at us) We did relent just to shut him up & try & attempt to continue to enjoy our good & drinks but nite ruined. Staff totally knew & should have intervened & offered us something for us being uncomfortable

this was my first happy hour omakase here and I’m officially a fan. chef lucas was so kind and helpful throughout the experience.

Uchi has an elevated and vibrant atmosphere. the bites are simple with enhancing flavors. I feel like I get to taste flavor when I eat here. The ambiance makes you feel like you’re in a robust city in the evening- no matter what time you dine. It just a corner of Scottsdale that you can escape into.

I choose this over other sushi spots all the time.

First time at Uchi and it was really good. The menu was a bit overwhelming at first, but our waiter was amazing and helped guide us with some great recommendations. Everything we tried was delicious, and my favorite by far was the Otoro Gunkan. It does get pricey since most items are charged per piece (except for the sushi rolls), but overall it was a great experience and definitely worth trying.

So, long story short, we went there for lunch on Valentine’s Day. The food was good, like 4 stars, but the whole experience was more like 3.5. Our server was super nice, but he totally forgot half our order. We were even cool with paying extra for wasabi (yeah, they charge for it with sushi or sashimi). He brought the wasabi after we’d already finished our negitoro rolls, and he didn’t even realize he’d messed up the rest of our order. Eventually, the last two things came out, and we also finished the wasabi. I figured they’d at least comp us a dessert or take the wasabi off the bill. Nope, $7 for wasabi at a Japanese restaurant! That costs more than their average sushi on the menu. It’s shocking!

Exceptional dining experience at Uchi Scottsdale!

From start to finish, everything was outstanding. I highly recommend the Omakase — every course was beautifully presented, fresh, and bursting with unique, balanced flavors. The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make the experience special.

A thoughtful touch — guests are offered tasting samples while waiting for their table, which set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, energetic enough to feel fun but not so loud that you couldn’t hold a conversation.

Overall, Uchi delivers an elevated yet approachable dining experience. Perfect for a date night, celebration, or anyone looking to enjoy creative Japanese cuisine done right.

If you’re in Scottsdale, Uchi is a must-visit, especially with Allen as your personal sushi chef. The atmosphere is impeccably clean and inviting, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

Allen’s warm personality and ability to recognize me after 4 months made me feel valued. His recommendations were spot-on, showcasing the freshest, most flavorful dishes I’ve ever had.

The service was top-tier, with Allen going above and beyond to enhance our meal with personalized suggestions. Dining at Uchi with Allen is a remarkable experience that I highly recommend!!:)
