The atmosphere strikes a great balance between elevated and comfortable, and the service was attentive and thoughtful throughout the meal. Every dish seemed to outdo the last, but the lobster and spare rib were absolute standouts. And the sauces—unforgettable.
From the quality of the food to the overall experience, this was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Denver. Uchi RiNo is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food, great service, and an experience that feels special from start to finish.
First, the vibe was unpretentious class.
Reading through the “Happy Hour” menu, I got lost a bit. But the bartenders had my back, highlighting things to try, navigating me through a whirlwind of amazing options.
Ever dish was given and explained, and every bite was scrumptious.
It felt like eating art, and I felt everything was curated to perfection.
I WILL be back, and bringing some friends.
The food itself was incredible – every single maki we tried was fresh and full of flavor, and the desserts were equally impressive. It was my first time visiting, but I left feeling so happy and impressed. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, wonderful service, and an overall memorable dining experience.
While all elements of the experience were strong, and generally in line for the price point, the most noteworthy element of our evening was Tiffany, our server. Her experience with the menu, with serving, and with communication was standout. In spite of the kitchen and the bar both being busy, she took time at servings in between courses, which I expect for fine dining. Her bonhomie was genuine and disarming. Tiffany went the extra mile to make our dinner party feel met, and special.
The ambiance was clean, a touch industrial, and had appropriate cultural nods. It was a touch dark to read the menu, but that seems common these days. Just a bit more light, would help patrons enjoy the plating more. It was loud, but conversation was doable.
The cuisine was well inspired, appropriately coursed, and for the most part, very well plated. Stand outs were the emperor fish nigiri, the sashimi in general, lobster miso, and a tapioca parfait that for me, was the winner of the night. The sake was excellent, and reasonably paired. The cocktails met expectations.
I enjoyed my experience here more than at their Austin location, which is also worth visiting.
I look forward to returning to both.
Got seats at the bar where Jessie was our chef. At first I reverse racially profiled him ( ) since a white chef in an Asian restaurant would normally throw you off. But Jessie knew what he was doing and served up some delicious food including making a reccomendation on a tofu dish that was amazing. He is awesome.
Overall service was great as hot dishes and drinks came from servers. Vibe was hip and modern inside. Definitely not typical sushi restaurant vibe. More trendy, super popular modern vibe. Perfect.
Then, ‘cause of some Happy Hour prices, it was relatively cheap compared to other places I’ve been in Denver. Couldn’t believe how reasonable it was for the experience we had. Excellent restaurant.
Bartender was nice and friendly. He offered 3 different sake samples before I opted for an old fashioned which was ok.
Best dish was karaage (fried chicken). Second place goes to fried milk and ice cream for desert. Kosho Toro maki (bluefin tuna roll) was alright but Shag (salmon roll with dried tomato) was the worst. We were disappointed with the sushi rolls. Dishes have a nice presentation but it took them at least 15 minutes to deliver each item. Overall it’s too pricey for the quality of the food you get.
