Service was great, from the valet parking to the chef, they provide a blanket, cause I was cold.
So now food, we went with the tasting menu, that’s like 17 courses. It allows to try a little of everything, some sushi, but also some great dishes from the kitchen, like the curry lobster.
Taylor did a great job with his selection, all were amazing, he closed with a Waugh one gorgeous!!!
Drinks are all kinda narrow to the sake section, ordered the litchi and mango martini, loved the Litchi one, felt the mango needed more mango, but might just me be. Thanks Lali for the service.
Desserts were interesting, I believe the presentation can be better, but once you combine all the pieces, the flavor it’s great.
Make sure to make a reservation, makes life better.
Sake was so yummy. Everything that followed was heavenly. Loving the really chill servers and ambiance—has a warm relaxing vibe.
If you’re coming to relax and eat, this is the place to be.
It goes without saying that this was quite a pricey meal. But as far as omakase goes, it wasn’t outrageous ($310 for two before tax/tip/drinks etc). And, strangely, you need a minimum of two people in your party to order it. So, you’re out of luck if the rest of your group doesn’t want to get the omakase or if you’re alone. It should go without saying, but restaurant shouldn’t exclude those who want/need to dine alone from their specialty. I can’t stand when restaurants offer meals that can’t accommodate singular guests; it’s just lazy planning on their part.
Two downsides that I’d like to note were the atmosphere and service. For a restaurant that comes with such a hefty price tag, the decor was pretty underwhelming and it lacked the typical fine dining ambiance. For some that may be a plus, but when you’re charging a minimum ~$160 per person, it would be nice to see a bit more effort put into giving guests an elevated experience. The dining room was also extremely loud. What frustrated me about the service was that our courses were delivered pretty haphazardly. Rather than having one dedicated server, they instead had 5 or so different servers deliver our courses at random. Also, half of the time, the course was not explained so we legitimately had no idea what we were eating sometimes.
All of that said, I would still highly recommend giving it a try – the food is just THAT good.
As well as the avocado sushi! ( you’ll thank me later) awesome happy hour 5-6 pm. Good non alcoholic cocktails. Great bar atmosphere , awesome for solo eating
