A San Antonio classic – family tradition Thai restaurant. An “Original.” If you are asking yourself where to eat, you should consider Ubon’s Thai Cuisine, formerly Ubon Tao’s Thai Restaurant. Ubon Lee is the owner of the restaurant and had her first job at that same location in the 1980s. Lee is from Thailand and her sister helps serve the hungry guests that walk in. When you do decide to stop by, you will find friendly service and a nice aroma coming from the kitchen. Not to mention, Chef Michael Rivera will serve your food faster than you can finish your boba tea. Chef Rivera first started his career at a Chinese restaurant in the early 80s and worked there for nearly 15 years.

Ordered the lunch special pad Thai. It came with a small soup. I also ordered Thai ice tea. Staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Food was excellent and portions were filling. Very much enjoyed dining here and will be back to try other dishes.

From the outside it looks very unassuming, but once you’re inside, you’re greeted by an incredibly sweet lady and provided a level of service that feels like you’re family. The samples and suggestions were perfect and our only issue was our stomachs got full and couldn’t finish everything (but even better, we have left overs!)
Didn’t get a picture of the steamed dumplings with green curry, but all was amazing and we’ll be back to try more!

Nice little restaurant. Decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed! My wife had the Tom Yum soup and I had the Thai fried rice. Both meals were excellent. The owner gives you samples of the teas they have. I recommend the green grass tea hot. Service was also excellent.

We were in the Medical Center this afternoon and decided to meet a friend for lunch. We decided to try UBON’S Thai Cuisine at 8110 Fredericksburg Rd. We weren’t disapointed.
We walked in and were greated enthusiastically by the staff and seated. Our waitress brought our menus along with bowls of Tom Yum soup and samples of four of their specialty drinks. All four were very tasty and my favorite wife chose the purple lemonade. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, medium heat and Pad Sweet and Sour with shrimp. Both were excellent. We will definitely be returning to try other menu items when we’re in the area. The friendly staff and fabulous food is worth a try if you’re in the area.

Food is great, but the service is the best! I’ve always seen this place but I finally got to check it out. They are so friendly and nice that when I said it was my first time there, and wasn’t sure what to get, they explained the lunch menu and described a few of the dishes. Most people don’t take the time to do that. I got Pad Thai with fried tofu to go, and it was so good! I also got a Thai coffee as a pick me up during the work lunch. My favorite thing is that they gave me a little congee while waiting for my order. My favorite food is lugaw which is similar to congee, but no restaurant ever serves it! I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu, but now I know when I get sick, there’s a place to order congee as a comfort meal.

I tried this restaurant out about a week ago with co-workers and it was amazing. We ordered ahead and brought it back to work; I had the chicken pad Thai, it was still piping hot and tasted so good. I got it again today and it was horrible. From the first bite I could tell something was off, a few bites later I figured it out. It was oily and had a burnt flavor, even the color was off. Idk who was cooking but it was not good at all. I’m so irritated. I gave 2 stars because my chicken spring rolls were edible.

This little gem of a Thai restaurant is tucked into a strip Center on Fredericksburg Road and may be a little bit difficult to find. I have been there several times and I must say that the food has always been wonderful. This time we ordered a red curry with chicken and vegetables and a special dish of the house called

Egg noodle, BBQ pork, bean sprout, garlic, green onion, cilantro and other veggies. We also had as an appetizer the Thai fish cakes which were wonderful were wonderful. As before, we were not disappointed, the food was just great. The service by the owner was excellent. Oh by the way I also had a Thai iced tea which was very refreshing. The location of little bit difficult to find is 8110 Fredericksburg Road it’s in a strip center. You have to try this place if you like Thai food or for that better Chinese food because that is on the menu also.

This was a real treat! Hubs brought me here after I had oral surgery. We had the steamed dumpling in green curry sauce, pad thai, banana/taro dumpling and mango with sweet sticky rice and the Thai green tea and chrysanthemum drinks.
Everything was amazing and the service was impeccable. The food arrived at the perfect temperature and the drinks were phenomenal. I’m not big into Thai food but this is my new go to spot if ever there is a hankering.
The spice of my pad Thai was perfect and the staff is so darn friendly. Make sure you guys stop by, you won’t be disappointed.
