We travel around a lot, and have just had a beautiful weekend in Prague. We met lots of lovely people and visited lots of wonderful places. But the meal, service and atmosphere at U Modré Kachničky was simply the best. Next level dining, but most importantly not pretentious, just genuine and relaxing.

Restaurant is set in an old house, spread over beautifully decorated rooms. Opted for tasting menu with wine pairing and were impressed. Heavenly for meat lovers with courses of game pate, foie gras, duck and deer. All beautiful presented and perfectly cooked. Choice of wine very good. Staff were all excellent. Live pianist completed the set up. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

I couldn’t have celebrated my birthday in a better place. Atmasfor is enchanting, the food is delicious, and the wines are just as delicious! The gentleman who took care of us was very kind, polite, and friendly. Everything was wonderful, in a word! I can’t wait to go back.

I am very conflicted about this place because our server was great, very attentive. The food was arguably good. We got Wild boar prosciutto with green pepper, Game pâté with apricot chutney and poppy seed biscuit to start. This was very flavorful, the apricot chutney enhanced the flavor. For mains we got the Lamb shank with garlic and rosemary,
roasted root vegetables and buttered baby potatoes. The lamb fell off the bone. We also got Flambéed fallow deer saddle, with port wine sauce and almond, prepared table side by our waiter. When we researched restaurants prior to the trip, we wanted one that provided a good traditional Czech menu, this place highlighted that with also mentioning to make a reservation so you can enjoy the piano, highlighted how it was an old Czech room. My low rating comes from showing up 18 minutes early to our reservation, them having difficulty locating our reservation, right in the middle of the page, and then informing us they were booked full but we could sit in one of two tables, as we walked past several empty tables. Then less than 5 minutes watching a couple be led into the room with the piano. Then a few minutes later a party of 5, then a party of 4. I was extremely disappointed as it felt intentional and I therefore do not recommend this restaurant being as we walked from Old Town over to receive a poor experience.

The service, food and environment are very good. People here are very professional, polite and friendly. The roast duck is crispy outside and soft inside and the lamb shank are delicious. The price is so reasonable. Absolutely worth to try!!

We went here for lunch, and it was incredible. I made a reservation, but I don’t know if it was necessary. There were several empty tables. I got the lamb, which was delicious. The two people I was with also enjoyed their dishes of duck and rabbit. The service was great and attentive. It is very fancy feeling inside, but all the guests dresses pretty casually. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was one of my favorites in Prague.

Truly amazing food. I love game restaurants, and the menu here was like my dream. There was not one dish I didn’t want to try. Had the venison and it was CHEF’S KISS. Drinks, appetizers, desserts, and service all great. Highly recommend a visit.
