Every time I visit, the food is consistently clean, flavorful, and satisfying. The couple who run the counter are always so kind and welcoming. it really adds to the experience. No matter how many times I eat here, I never get tired of it. This place has that rare combination of great taste, warm service, and reliability. A true favorite

U-Chun is one of a few food stalls located within the H-mart Korean supermarket in the Little Ferry plaza. This is my husband’s go-to spot, and it’s easy to see why. Each of the stalls kind of have their own niche, and U-Chun firmly occupies the soup and stew sector of Asian/Korean food. Most of their menu options are served on a hot plate or stone bowl, which is meant to keep your food hot and bubbly as you feverishly blow on and consume your meal.
Placing an order is a cinch, even for non-Koreans who can ask for menu items by number. Hang onto your receipt afterwards because it’ll have your order number. An automated voice will helpfully announce ready orders (by restaurant name and order number) over the loudspeaker so you don’t have to hover in the immediate vicinity.
Given the number of items on their menu and how limited their space is, it’s impressive they can turn out items as well and as quickly as they do. So far, we’ve tried the bulgogi bibimbap, with is topped with a sweet soy marinated meat and meant to be mixed with veggies and an optional gochujang sauce serving. It’s decent, though I have a pet peeve about hot stone bibimbaps that don’t achieve the crunchy burnt rice bottom. I liked far better the spicy chicken stew, which is chock full of tender braised chicken and tender potatoes in a fiery stew. It’s intensely flavorful and sure to clear up any sinus issues in a few bites.

Great food, best cold noodles and side dishes, over all superb value! The bibimbap is also outstanding. I love the little touches like the flask of beef broth that is provided at every table. Service is efficient even when the restaurant is very busy. Decor is clean and tables are well spaced. Very highly recommended!

After shopping at the H-Mart. I decided to stop at U chun for some food before I went home. I’ll keep it short and simple. If I could have that bulgogi dish everyday I really would. Plenty of places to sit and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They have many dishes to choose from. I will definitely try one of the noodles dishes on my next stop.

U chun is a very good little hidden gem inside of the H-mart. It’s a little pricey but sooo worth it. There are a few dishes really worth getting. Number 16 the cold noodle dish Naengmyeon is very good. The broth is delicious, its vinegary and hearty and obviously very cold. Its very refreshing. Another great dish is number 6 which is a hearty hot bone broth with noodles pork. Its so good. But one if the best things they sell is the tofu soups noodles comboed with the grilled short ribs. These are all go too dishes. If you come here id recommend starting with those and over time exploring the rest of the menu. Definitely worth coming too.

This food stall is located inside the Hmart Korean supermarket. The management is doing a pretty good job by keeping the food court nice and clean.
U Chun offers variety of dishes at reasonable price. Taste and portion are ok and it offers better value than a lot of fast food chain.

This is the long time gen that use to be on Board Ave in Palisades Park, offering the best naengmyen for years before it closed a few years ago. they expanded the menu to more than just their delicious cold noodles way before they closed and it looks like with this new spot, they built upon that with many more offerings. It’s tucked inside the new H-Mart’s food court in Little Ferry and their galbi tong is really good. Soup is very flavorful and the beef is extremely tender. Their prices are as much if not more than some full service restaurants but the food is very good and worth trying if you are in the area.

4 for nengmyun (cold buckwheat noodles) and banchan but 3 stars for other dishes.
We always go here when we are craving nengmyun. Noodle is nice and chewy, broth is flavorful with crushed ice, toppings are seasoned well.
Other dishes tasted a bit too salty and flavored with MSG. We ordered ttukgook, kimchi tofu, and bibimbop. Soups were just too much flavored with MSG… hence the 3 stars.

Every table is served with beef broth and 7 mini side dishes. Broccoli, potato salad, cold noodles, seaweed salad, fish cake, kimchi, Pickled radish and a free bottle water.
We had seafood tofu soup and kimchi pancake. Not a big fan, it’s too salty for my taste.

My review is based on the one dish I tried which was #17 Ojinguh Dolsotbap. My first bite was the edge of the fried egg. It was delightfully crispy and infused with plenty of wok hei ❤️. The squid was tender and fresh, not overly chewy. The dish overall was packed with flavor and the spiciness was just right. U chun surpassed my expectations for a small stall inside of H-mart.
