Breakdown of our experience:

At first, the restaurant is beautiful, with a nice expansive outdoor area. Very tastefully done and great atmosphere. Check-in was great, quickly got seated and greeted by our server.

Service was good, but not amazing. The staff was pleasant, but not the most attentive. We had to wait a few times with empty cups or for prolonged periods to get our order going. I will say, for it being the first week open it was not bad at all, just some kinks to work on.

Food was mixed. Pricing strategy was a bit off to me, the biscuits were great, but for two tiny (and I mean tiny) biscuits at $10 it felt overpriced. We also asked for hot sauce (not offered or suggested, which is a miss imo) and got charged $1 for each, that was pretty insane to me.

Guac was really good, and it made me wish we had ordered ceviche.

Huevos con Machaca was on the bland side, the cookies and concha were also bland. The tortillas that came with the Huevos were fresh and smelled/tasted great. Coffee was okay, lattes were mid-tier but I think they have potential to get better as the barista ramps up more.

We also asked for some items to go when we initially sat down and after 30 minutes we were told “sorry we don’t do to go orders”, yet, our leftovers were boxed for us to takeaway.

Overall, experience felt off, food wasn’t really amazing either. I’ll probably give it another try in a month or so once they are more settled but have my hopes low.

Restaurant just opened so you can tell they’re still finding their rhythm. Even so the staff is incredibly kind. Grecia our server was attentive and pleasant to have as our server. The food was delicious and had the taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. Definitely would recommend!

Another home run by the owners of Fonda San Miguel next door, this may be our new favorite brunch spot. The atmosphere and menu transport you to the best interior Mexican experience. The offerings are outstanding with delicious twists on dishes like Huevos Rancheros and traditional baked goods. Stunning interior and outdoor seating with loads of parking. Very tranquil. A real jewel of a restaurant!

Only opened 2 weeks. The staff is ultra friendly. It is very noticeable once we entered the restaurant. The decor and ambiance are on point with the concept. The food was really good but some items did lack some flavor but not a horrible thing.

The food was incredible. Probably the best verde chilaquiles I’ve had in a while! Also very delicious pan dulce conchas, I couldn’t believe it. So incredible! Space is immaculate and the staff is so professional, kind, and attentive. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great lunch service!

Been waiting on this place to open up- so excited it has!! We went on a whim on Valentine’s Day morning and put on list for an hour- to be expected. We grabbed a latte and Iced Tea and sat outside. We were seated inside (most of outside not seated due to weather- will be back for the patio for sure). Ordered the tacos for an appetizer and Huevos Rancheros and Enfrijoladas. All were fantastic- the Enfrijoladas are very rich- just as a note to note. I do wish they had drip coffee but the latte was great. The hostess was very friendly as were the people taking drink orders and the pastries were flying out the door as fast as they could make them. We will be back to try those for sure. Loved the art and the atmosphere.

Such a wonderful restaurant and cafe. The service and food are excellent. Delicious and authentic Mexican food.
Great coffee as well. Such a cool and thoughtfully designed space. The patio is amazing – transports you to Mexico. This is a very special place that we are lucky to have in Austin. I am so excited to return regularly.

Skipped the line on a rainy day and order from the to-go window. The baked goods were decent with plenty of options for your breakfast or sweet tooth. The sit down menu have more savory options, while the window have all the pastries and coffee. Really good flavor and fresh pastries and you got to make sure you get the Cafe Olla. Price point is the same as Fonda, so expect to work over some coins. I would be interested in coming back on a nice day for the patio and dining experience.Parking was a little tight with plenty of spots and two lots but not a lot of space w/ the folks and their SUVS. The staff was super nice and friendly. They just recently opened for five days so give them a few more days to work out all the operational challenges. Definitely would be going back soon.
