Steak was spot on and the food was excellent I didn’t have to send my steak back to be cooked!! The old guy is like an old timer in South Dakota so if he comes off strong that’s the way they work up here, so go try it out you won’t be disappointed for a small town steak house!!!

The owner (old guy) is very rude. Walked in at 9pm and asked if they are still serving food. While eating he said no grill is off. I believe it was him not wanting to do anything (lazy). Honestly the good reviews are probably from the staff. Only good thing was the woman that gave us other recommendations!!!!

Overall, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were decent. Our waitress was attentive to our drinks and brought out the condiments. We ordered, and at first thought, the food prices looked a bit high. The potato salad was decent, but it was sitting on ice in the corner of the restaurant. It did not look appealing, it looked runny. It tasted like there was a little too much mayonnaise, but it was delicious once you added salt and pepper.
I ordered the popcorn chicken and french fries. The other person I was with ordered a 3/4 lb cheeseburger and fries. My chicken bites were horrible. It was extremely greasy and it tasted rubbery. When I offered a bite to the other person, he agreed. My fries tasted like dirty potatoes but if you drowned them in ranch, it was edible. I didn’t complain because my waitress was an elderly lady and slightly rude when I asked about the potato salad when she was taking my order.
The other person said his burger had no seasoning and said his fries were decent. His burger came out as well done and a piece of square cheese. It can best be described as a piece of wrapped kraft singles. There was no lettuce, onions or tomato. There was a pickle on the side.
With the combination of the food being horrible, our bill being overpriced for the quality of food and our waitress being odd and slightly rude; my advice is to go eat somewhere else. We ended up sucking up the bill and sulking away to Godfathers Pizza to fill the remainder of our stomachs. Maybe the food sucked because of what we ordered, or because it was 5pm on a Thursday, either way, dine in at your own risk!

I have been in Wagner working for a month now, and have eaten here many times during that stay. Great owners and always had an enjoyable conversation. I would stop if I was ever on my way through town again!

Too expensive for what you get, 3 sirlions, & a very, very basic salad bar was $75+. A fine dining price at a slightly upscale diner atmosphere. Your basic bar & grill.
