Two Rivers Lunch

  4.8 – 112 reviews   • Family restaurant

In 1976 Tylor and Leitha Kelly built a small hot dog stand in Allagash, Maine and named it Two Rivers Lunch – an ideal name for a restaurant that is located between the pristine waters of the St. John and Allagash rivers. By 1985 Two Rivers Lunch developed into a full service restaurant and is well known for its home-cooked meals, grilled cheese toast, famous coleslaw, homemade pies and pastries, huge buttermilk pancakes, fishing and hunting photos and pleasant hospitality. If Leitha is not out fishing or hunting she still bakes bread and pies using recipes handwritten by her mother, Belle. “My mother taught us the old way,” she said “That’s just the way we were – old fashioned.” ~ Leitha

This place is such a hidden jem.A step back in time,as far as hospitality, nostalgia, and comfort food.We always feel like family, even though we come from Pennsylvania. The tomato soup and grilled cheese on Texas toast are perfect on those snowy maine days.Perfect destination ride weather it be automobile, utv or snow machine!Plan accordingly though, they close around 2pm.

Whenever we come up from the midcoast to visit family, we make this destination .
The food is not only delicious, there’s plenty of it. Just remember you’re in the Northern Maine Woods, not New York City. Always nice and accommodating and like I said great food.

This place is amazing!! We’re paddling on the nfct and two rivers as well as the bunkhouse was a godsend. After eleven days in the wilderness we were incredibly grateful for the hospitality.

Best place to be treated like family AND enjoy great food. If you’re coming to the Allagash wilderness make sure to plan and stop by and enjoy your meal here. My wife and I both 65+ enjoyed breakfast and lunch two days in a row, worth the drive. Enjoy !!

The food is amazing here. We ate breakfast there every morning. The loaded omelet was huge and easily fed the both of us. The pancake was larger than the plate and delicious. The toast and French toast were equally great as well. Everything is made from scratch and we can’t wait to return.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful too.

We usually waited until the morning rush was over to go over and eat.

If you’re looking for great home cooking this should be your go to place.
