I had never even heard of Two Black Dogs Café & Take Out, but I was driving down Route 47, got hungry, and decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
What really stood out, though, was the experience. The owner greeted my girlfriend and me right away, made us feel completely comfortable, and was such a pleasure to talk with. That kind of genuine hospitality is hard to find.It was so good that I’ll honestly make it a point to drive 40 minutes out of my way just to go back. Great food and great people we’ll definitely be returning.

We returned to Two Black Dogs Cafe and Takeout in Green Creek, one of our favorite places in Cape May County. My honey ordered the Mac-n-Cheese Platter, which featured cavatappi pasta, smoked cheddar and gouda, gruyere, cheddar, and grilled kielbasa. Personally, I’m not a fan of either mac n cheese or kielbasa, but I enjoyed both – during dinner and as leftovers the following day. The cheese combo is delicious and the kielbasa had a slightly smoky flavor which got my “two thumbs up.” I ordered the Pub Burger, a homemade beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a brioche roll, and added mushrooms and home cut french fries. The medium done burger was just as I ordered, and was thick and juicy. We ordered one of our Two Dogs faves – Thai Chicken Satay (panko fried chicken, sriracha aioli, peanut dipping sauce) to go for a snack later that evening. As always, service from owner/server Leigh was timely and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit to try something new (for us) from their menu!

This place is a gem that we’re glad we stumbled across. The food was absolutely delicious–I definitely had the best veggie melt of my life. The hand-cut fries and chips were great, as was the dessert we ordered!
It might have just been the day we arrived, but the food took an hour to arrive. The staff was friendly while we waited and did give us small updates on how the food was doing. It was a long and hot wait, but ultimately the food was worth it.

The wife and I were craving burgers and had Two Black Dogs Cafe on our ‘to try’ list. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a really decent cheese burger around this area but if you’re on the search like we are, please give Two Black Dogs a try! The burgers were flavorful, cooked perfectly and juicy even in the case of the well done burger that was ordered. The fries were good and the pickles seemed to be home made.
The whole cafe is on the small side maybe 10 tables. I think it may have been a general store for the campground back in the day. It has a very laid back vibe. We enjoyed our meal very much.
We will be returning to Two Black Dogs and bringing friends. You should too.

I do not recommend this place at all. There is no ventilation and the kitchen is open so all of the smoke from the kitchen goes to where you are eating and your eyes start to burn. It smells like a dirty grill.
They don’t have any free water, only bottled.
There was only one waiter dude and he was literally doing everything. He was getting take out orders, serving the food and cleaning the tables. Poor guy he needs help it’s a Saturday night. There were only a couple other tables.
I got the chicken sandwich and it was terrible. It was dry and not seasoned at all. The bread was good and the chips were good.
My one sister got a burger and she asked for medium and it was well done. Also her fries were cold so she asked for fries that were hot…
My eyes are still burning.
Did I mention the vents were so dirty and there was a broken window.
There were 5 cats sitting out front.
Anyway I won’t go back. I smell bad and I’m still hungry.
I forgot. It also took an hour and there were only 2 other tables. One whole hour to get our food.
There were real flowers on the table though

Delicious find on our way towards the beach. Unassuming small cafe feel with a surprisingly tasty menu. The chef & owners were friendly & talented. The menu options were classy, seasonal, varied. Nice history of the restaurant roots in articals on the walls. Presentation & taste satisfied everyone, kids & adults. What a special find. Stumbled in after visiting Jersey Shore Alpacas a block down. Visit both!

Small but very well thought menu, but had the special, Seafood Stuffed Crepes with Rice and Asparagus, and it was so good!
Wife had the same, and son had an amazing Cheese Steak on a nice AC roll.
Poutine fries and Minnie Lee’s Green bean were a great start.

Very cute small place for a quick bite. I had a chicken salad sandwich and it was pretty decent. My husband had meatloaf, which was a little cold and the wrong choice in meals, as it was just OK. My soup didn’t come out before my meal. The mac and cheese however, was excellent. Overall we would try it if back in the area, but with a different choice of meals for sure!
