Social Profile:

With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. Twisted Root appeared on the second season of Diners,…

I loved the incredible atmosphere. There were so many humorous signs hung up everywhere. The patio was comfortable and cool and we enjoyed the river view.
The fries were fantastic and the burger was fine.

I appreciated the care and attention given to my allergy and cross contamination concerns.

Great burgers, we split the Millionaire burger and an order of misc fried things. The pickle bar is unusual, they are all strong.
The best part– we could take our puppy because she’s allowed on the back patio. This means we will be returning since we can both eat there at the same time.

This has a hip industrial vibe. Pretty unique burgers. I thought they were absolutely fantastic. They were juicy flavorful. The bun is great. The french fries were fresh. They have a variety of pickles that you can try. So we’re definitely better than others.

Twisted Root Burger Co. in San Angelo is a fun spot with a great personality and even better food. The atmosphere is relaxed and quirky, with plenty of character in the décor and the music, which makes it feel different from the typical burger joint. The staff were friendly and made the experience enjoyable from the moment we walked in.

The burgers are definitely the star here. The menu has a lot of creative options and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The patty was juicy, well seasoned, and cooked just the way I asked for it. The toppings were generous without overpowering the flavor of the meat. The fries and onion rings on the side were crisp and full of flavor, making the meal even better.

One thing I really liked is that the place has personality. From the way they call out orders to the playful touches in the dining area, it feels unique and memorable. The prices are fair for the quality you get, and the portions are satisfying without being over the top.

Overall, Twisted Root Burger Co. is a great place to grab a casual meal in San Angelo. If you are looking for a burger that stands out from the usual fast food options and a place with a fun vibe, this is definitely worth checking out. I will be back the next time I am in town.

Nice restaurant! The food is great. Very busy and packed when we went. Also, music was very loud which made talking a bit difficult.

I users to love this place, within this last year they have gone downhill so much it’s disappointing. I went and the staff is very rude. Sit down to eat my sandwich and there’s mold on my buns! thank god i check out my food before I eat, I’ve seen multiple people say they got food poisoning from here. Took it back, once again they were very rude and took forever to get it out, keep in mind it wasn’t busy maybe 3 other ppl there. 50$ for two moldy burgers and some fries. Never again am I going until management changes.

Had visited this place several years back and it was amazing! Definitely looks run down now, no line on a Saturday evening should have been a sign. The best thing was the burger patties themselves. Nothing else seemed fresh, especially the sides. The cheese fries were the worst. The employees weren’t especially friendly and the floors were dirty/sticky. Will not return.

Nice burger place in San Angelo. Huge burger and generous amount of fries. Various variety of pickles. The location is huge with plenty of space. I will visit this location again in deer season.

This. Was. Devine. Forgot to take a photo right away, it had like yummy burnt marshmallows first this is the s’mores shake!

Wish they wouldn’t charge for fries, or at least tell you so you know your $10 burger is actually $13-14. But it is definitely delicious!

Very nice and casual place. Variety of pickle slices. We got a Classic Hamburger. Downside is you have to buy fries separately. Signature of this place is multiple meat types – bison, lamb, boar, deer, pork. Also very good shakes and a root beer float using soft-serve custard. They have bar seats at tables and typical table seating plus outdoor tables under cover. I use a knee-scooter for mobility and it was easy to roll to bathrooms plus inside. The downside is you have to stand in line to order.
