With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. I built my own burger.
Brioche bun, beef, onion strings, cheddar, jalapeño, and garlic aioli.
It had great flavor throughout the whole burger.
Loved the hatch cheese fries as well

Really liked this place, it’s fun! Came here at the request of some coworkers. Very good burgers and love the custom pickes (hot, ranch, dill, etc.). Fries are really good too. The venue is really cool with inside, upstairs, covered outdoor and yard as well as different games. There also is an outside upstairs. Staff is fun and give you a celebrity name to call out foe your order ( I was Bruce Lee). Highly recommend.

Ive been a fan of Twisted Root for a long time…maybe too long at this point because having visited their original location and several others…this was kind of a disappointing experience. I went with my partner and I ordered a burger, he ordered their chicken tenders and the disco fries as a side. Straight up, these were the tiniest chicken tenders I’ve ever seen served in a restaurant…we noticed that the menu had a section for chicken and he ordered off that, but maybe the server thought he was ordering the kids menu tenders? Youd think the server would ask. Idk either way, wow. Then, I had hyped up the fact that Twisted Root makes really good Root beer only to find that they didnt have it at all at the soda fountain. Odd. The food was fine but $50 for a burger (no fries on the side) and teeny tenders with disco fries…3 items. Thats a lot for 3 things. Just kinda makes me sad to see TR become something like this. Think ill stick to the og location.

Our first time visiting the Plano location. We had lunch for a friend’s birthday. Great place for people of different ages to get together. They have something for everyone. I really like the build your own. The different patty options are great. One in our group got a salad, and it looked awesome. She said it was very good.

Ate lunch here for my first time. I’d heard good things but what I should have heard was great things! I had the Ain’t No Chicken Club with no bacon. I didn’t realized it didn’t come with fries and I went back up to get a side of fries thinking I’d have to wait but they got them to me immediately. This was probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Fries were fantastic too. Loved the BBQ-y ketchup sauce that’s on the table. Staff was super friendly. Great vibe. Neat outdoor space. Can’t wait to go back!

We were invited for a Surprise 16th Birthday Party for our Grandson. It was a real cool place to have it. They accommodated our needs for a large party. The food was good and the staff was friendly. I’m a huge pickle lover and I was excited to see their large barrels of different type of pickles. I tried them all and they were so delicious. I will be going back!

Traveled here from San Antonio for a Volleyball tournament and after the game the whole team met up here and the restaurant staff accommodated our large group quick! Delicious burgers with fresh ingredients, great shakes, very large multiple seating areas and great beer selections! A must try!
