Excellent BBQ brisket and pulled pork. It’s not every day you find a secret recipe that’s actually unique to the restaurant this far north, but here you go. The house sauce smokey and sweet with just a little bite to it. The meat is melt in your mouth tender. For the price, it is on point (price point is 20-30 if you do appetizers.).
I highly recommend the apples and sweet side. The mashed, spiced sweet potatoes are formed with a doughy crust like a mini sweet potato pie, and delicious.
Service is casual and slightly slow, but staff is attentive and very polite. I recommend giving yourself ample time in peak hours.
As far as ambiance goes, the bar side mixes with the diner side, so keep that in mind. However, it is nice to see solid BBQ in Chicagoland.

We found this place while staying in Homewood. Wow! Better than what we thought we might get. They accommodated my GF / DF needs and had each box marked. (Bonus points for that !) This place should get listed in the FIND ME GLUTEN FREE app. This way GF-ers could find them. Platters cost about $15 but well worth it. Good size portions were sent in the take out containers. We sampled 3 meats – half chicken, pulled pork and brisket. The chicken and pork were tender and juicy. The brisket was lean but a bit dry (maybe a little overcooked?). The BBQ sauce added moisture to the brisket but out of the 3 meats, this was our least favorite.
We sampled the roasted veggies, cole slaw, potato salad and fries. We forgot to ask if the fries came from dedicated fryer, so I opted not to try them. The staff was friendly and very helpful (A++).
We will be back. Thanks for a delicious meal.

Twisted Q is a nice hidden gem if you are looking for a couple pints and some decent BBQ.
I started out with the burnt ends chili, which had a good balance of beans and pork trimmings. It was a hearty cup that was almost a full meal in itself.
For my meal I did a brisket sandwich with mac n’ cheese on the side. The mac was gooey and cheesy, a bit lukewarm, but a good balance of savory and salty. The brisket was tender and tangy, with a good amount of BBQ sauce. The onions and cheddar cheese added a nice layer of flavor.
For dessert I had a slice of the best peach pie I’ve had (with ice cream). The crust was warm and buttery with a gooey and soft peach center.
The atmosphere was a little dimly lit and quiet, which isn’t bad if you are craving some alone time, but not great ambience for hanging out. Service was very solid, as our waitress was very attentive.
Come by if you are looking for a bit of calm and some decent BBQ to pair.

This was the worse BBQ we have EVER HAD!
Someone is lying in the reviews!
The rib tips were boiled, lightly smoked, lacked flavor with a sweet sauce… AWFUL.
The brisket looked like grayish gyro meat with Lawrys seasoning, salt.. just what the what.
The only thing I can say service was fast but food was not worth $30

Our server was punctual and very nice. The place had a nice small town vibe to.
So the burnt end chili was amazing. Got the cup wished I got the bowl. The brisket was flavorful but not as tender as I’d like. The pulled pork was very tender, juicy, and delicious.
We’ll be back!

I’m giving Twisted Q all four stars because of its uniqueness. There’s a small bar, barstool eating area, booths and tables, with the most extensive menu I’ve ever seen for bar food. So really, it’s like a restaurant / bar fusion. Try it. It’s great fun with unique old fashioned atmosphere. The food photographs I’ve shown are there famous Twisted barbecue pulled pork sandwich which is absolutely delicious and a heavy serving, and they’re Saint Patrick’s Day corned beef cabbage potato carrots special for 16.99 enough food for two people. All of their portions are very generous. Reasonably priced.

The cheeseburger was okay, and so were the fries. They put everything on your burger. The only complaint I have is the onions. They chopped up onions, and I think I had about five little chopped up pieces of onion. I love onions, and they messed up on that. So if you come here make sure if you’re an onion lover to ask for plenty of onions!
The chili is delicious. It has a bit of spice. They add burnt ends, pulled pork. It’s really good.

If you think it looks good in these photos wait till you see it in person! My wife and myself loved our experience here.Great local BBQ restaurant that offers not only BBQ items but many more from burgers, hot dogs pastas, sandwiches and much more. This place also offers a bar for if your ever in the mood to watch any sport with an ice cold beer and great food. I deliver supplies to this restaurant and I have gotten to know the whole crew over the years who prepare this awesome food and apart from having a great personality they are dedicated to make sure every dish is top of the line for their customers. The owner of this establishment Doug, is a great person who takes time to interact with his customers and its something you rarely see now a days so you know you are always going to feel welcomed coming here. If you’re ever in the area this is one place you definitely have the check out!
