One hour later, no food…Too bad, first time here it was great. Definitely not managed we’ll. Hope it improves.

Update, back for a third try. Service fantastic, fun atmosphere, but food was mediocre for the first time. Pass on the unseasoned salsbury steak and packaged gravy but try the jalapeno and bacon appetizer.

Enjoy going to this place, good wait staff, bartender is nice, and the owner is cool as well. Have been here a few times and ordered fried avacodo and it’s really good, they bread them themselves so not previously frozen stuff, so I obviously I order them often, to good not too. I and my husband have taken our kids there as well and the kids have cleaned their plates, so I know it’s good food. I will recommend this place to anyone, they have live music some nights, so go check them out on Facebook. Enjoy your visit when you go.

This place is new and just getting things figured out. The service is super friendly and attentive, but typically slow (we have waited as long as 30 mins for mixed drinks and 45 mins for food), so not the place if you’re in a hurry. But they have hired some experienced staff and will no doubt improve as they get settled. They have live music on weekends which I love, but we’ve seen some great bands and some not-so-great bands. We like supporting this local place, though, and we’re sure they’ll improve as they mature and get their systems down.

I will admit, I was skeptical of going in but my wife and I were hungry and local eateries in this area are limited. It is a bar and restaurant geared toward a crowd, live music and family eating. Prices are more than reasonable and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food! Fresh and cooked well, one of the better burgers I have had in a long time. My wife had the chicken tenders and those were great too. My favorite was the fried pickles though because they slice them thin, have a good breaded coating and cooked crispy. We will most certainly be back to have another meal. Nice hidden gem in Lampasas!

The first time we went there and we ordered a chicken salad, a chicken fried chicken, and a chicken fried steak – small. The sides included fried okra – marvelous. For the price the servings were large. The server was very helpful and prompt, including telling us promptly when the kitchen backed up. The delay was minimum. We plan to return.

Quick for order but slow to get food. Prices are in line with other restaurants. Small chicken fried steak is $10. Large one is $14. Meal was good but not exceptional. I would go back occasionally but not on a regular basis. Waitress was friendly and kept checking on us which was a plus.

Great venue to see live local music. Metal night was awesome! So nice to see some diversity of music in Lampasas finally! Service was wonderful and all stuff including owners where very friendly and involved with people attending. Another great bonus was the drink prices! 4.50 for large cup of Jameson and Dr. Pepper! A drink like this would never be this cheap in Austin for live music. Thank you for putting on a organized and awesome concert Twisted Oaks! Will definitely be coming back.

The location changed and so did the quality… not worth it at all. The cooks kept coming out of the kitchen and touching their sweaty hair and proceeded to touch peoples food, one woman had just come back in from smoking a cigarette from the front and had a nasty cough. She handled the food as well. Cheap old ingredients with sticky tables. Not coming back.

New location in the old AM vets Hall. Table of 6. Four other people in the place when we got there , not busy.
One steak was so far past well done and it was ordered medium rare. The rest of the food was average.
Service way below average, drink glasses and beer bottles all over the table when the food came. Did the server take the bottles? No. We’ve been to the original location, and now to the second location, and it just doesn’t seem like they can get it right.
Certainly better dining choices are available in Lampasas.
