Twisted Grape is here to bring back the sense of community with our wine bar and restaurant that opened in March 2015 in Shalimar. There are no TVs, just wine, some beer, good food and an eclectic style that encourages guests to talk to one another. “We felt Shalimar needed something a little different,” Kathleen said. “We wanted people to come in, have good food, good drinks and be able to socialize. “We’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” she added. Twisted Grape has a a wonderful menu and a wine list that is updated regularly. We feature live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

I was really excited to try this place because the menu looked incredible…so I spent a long time looking over it before our visit. The place is conveniently located and the decor is nice, so I thought we were off to a good start! But I have to say that out of the 4 item ordered, nothing was very good. They have the right idea, but maybe need better recipes, or a better chef?? At a minimum they need some seasonings!!! And the staff carried on a very lively, loud conversation for much of the time we were there. And although it sounded like fun for them, it was distracting especially when our food was just so blah.

Our go to date night place. We love the charcuterie board with wine. Depending on how hungry we are it’s sometimes enough for dinner. It’s an open set up so it can get noisy, especially on live music nights but it still makes for a good date night. Can be as dressed down as jeans and a t-shirt or dressed up ready for a night out.

Had the Zin-Gouda Hamburger today at lunch, it was fantastic. If you don’t like spicy skip the aioli and go with regular mayo. The Zinfandel reduction put it over the top. Staff friendly and accommodating as always! Would post a picture but phone won’t let me. Those phones are too bossy.

First time trying the Twisted Grape and it was good. Ordered the burger. The beef tastes under seasoned and didn’t have much flavor but the burger was good. The garlic butter on the veggies was good as well. Would come back again. In the pictures the burger meat was already sliced.

As a local, it’s nice to have a wine bar where you can enjoy live music and good wine! I loved their salads and fruit plate. I’ve tried their main dishes in the past, and they’re pretty tasty.
