It was Friday night when myself, my partner and my brother made the pilgrimage to the Pacific Northwest via the Twisted Cork. It was a wonderful experience that will definitely be remembered. We began our night with the Hot Honey Whipped Ricotta. Eventually switching to the main courses, I had the Juan de Fuca tacos, my partner the Prarie Fire Steak and my brother the Wild Halibut. Finishing with the Vancouver Island Namaimo Bar. Our wonderful server Kendrew killed it with these wonderful recommendations, and his impeccable service all night. He made sure our waters were full and that we were taken care of.
Hot Honey Whipped Ricotta- it was a heavenly cloud of spicy sweet playing across our palettes with a mild crunch of the walnuts and a light perfume of the lavender.
From the Pacific Northwest section of the menu. Kendrew recommended that we try the J.D.F tacos and the Wild Halibut.
Wild Halibut- The only thing better than the olive tapenade with the halibut was the service and company. The Olive Tapenade will truly haunt you long after this dish is finished. This dish was truly delicious with the potatoes and asparagus playing as terrific sides to the beautiful Halibut.
J.D.F Tacos- The First the thing to hit me with these tacos was the blue crunch of the taco shell. Followed by the miso glazing of the salmon that played nicely with the cold pico and avocado aioli. Overall would definitely get these tacos again.
From the Heartland menu my partner had the Prairie Fire Steak.
Prairie Fire- First time in years I can remember a restaurant actually cooking my steak PERFECTLY medium rare, juicy, great color, and chewy in the right way. Apple slaw was refreshing and tart, but not overpowering. Potatoes seasoned lovely and pass the “does this taste good cold at 3am?” test?
Vancouver Island Nanaimo Bar- Sweet, Rich but light with the right of crisp and Crunch. A perfect finish to our evening. We definitely had a terrific time.

Had dinner here with friends and place was packed service was friendly. And prices were very reasonable especially for us Californians. We shared multiple appetizers, the Popovers with Apple Butter ( not too happy with the Apple Butter so orders regular butter instead.). The popovers were light and flaky. The Laura’s Lavish and Brussels and Cauliflower were both very good. I did not have the Whidby Island Shrimp as I am allergic to shellfish but the group enjoyed the dish. The black cod in a hot pot and the Deunken mussels were good too. We shared a Ghirardelli Chocolate collie which was served warm with Vanilla ice cream. I was told the at this place was very popular with locals. After dinner we went to the Vault downstairs which is speakeasy styled bar, dark but not smoky

The server (Valerie) was friendly and helpful. We all started with soups which had a very complex and delightful profile. We couldn’t decide if we liked the Nebraska Corn Chowder or Tomato-Red Pepper Bisque better – you can’t go wrong. The Sea Scallops, Twisted Cork Burger and Wild Halibut all danced across our taste buds. We were there on a Tuesday right at 5 and had no problem getting a table but you may consider a reservation for the weekend.

Food was tasty. Portion size for the Sockeye Salmon was small, but my husband loved the tacos! The nachos and popovers were divine. We’d definitely go back, especially since their seafood is flown in fresh every 24 hours!

Amazing! Hubs took us here for our V-day date this year. They did not disappoint. Let’s go…
Service: from the hostesses to our waitress, they were all amazing. Smiles. Kindness. Excellent suggestions. She didn’t check on us too much. She read the table and did an excellent job.
Food: we had the screaming crackers for a share plate. It was a tasty plate of complimentary tastes and textures.
Hubs ordered a steak. It was tender, delicious, and cooked to perfection. The green beans were fresh, as were the potatoes. He had no complaints.
I ordered the halibut. So good. The capers. The potatoes. The asparagus. Holy moly. I didn’t want to stop eating it. So wonderful.
It was all Divine.
Dessert: dang… I want to go back for more. We got the raspberry cheesecake. Perfection. The cheesecake was made fresh in shop that morning. It was light, tasty perfection. The crust complimented it all so well.
Bonus info: my water glass was never empty. I am a heavy water drinker and I was never left without that ice cold liquid. This is important!

We did not make a reservation, but we were able to be seated at the bar right away, which was actually quite nice. For starters, we got the Hawaiian Ahi nachos – fresh, raw tuna on crunchy lavosh with wasabi and avocado aioli, and seasoned pineapple and sliced avocado. Lovely dish and delicious. For main course I ordered the salmon tacos – excellent quality salmon, fresh toppings, and lovely blue corn shells. Very tasty! My wife got the Twisted Cork Burger, which looked incredible. She said it was amazing and I didn’t even get a bite to taste. Next time. We both ordered drinks. I got a lovely local beer and my wife got the Penicillin cocktail, which she enjoyed. The service at the bar was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was refined and casually elegant. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food you get. We will definitely be back. Make a reservation if you want a table. It’s not a big place and it fills up fast.

A great new find! I categorically, Love this place. Located just off I-680 and Pacific St. makes for quick access. TCB has combined all the right elements to produce the perfect ambiance for a successful date night. TCB offers contemporary American cuisine with creative flair. The drinks are blended to perfection. The wine selection appears to be fine selections from the northwest. My entree was the Berkshire Pork with an Irish Muhle, Delicious!!! I spied numerous sea food entrees that I will be returning for. Trust me, you must try Twisted Cork Bistro.
