While driving back to Denver to wrap up our holiday trip, we decided to pop into this shop for a quick caffeine reset. We were avoiding the usual chains, and we’re so glad we did—the coffee was outstanding! The staff inside were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the stop even better. It was the perfect local find to fuel our final stretch home!

Twisted Bean Coffee Company is such a fantastic spot. The coffee is amazing, the vibe is welcoming, and it really feels like more than just a coffee shop. It’s a place where you can relax, get work done, and actually build real connections with people in the community. Every time I come here, I leave in a better mood than when I walked in. I have been here a few times and always love my experience. First, the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I usually come with my young daughter and they are very patient with her as she orders her own food/drink.
Today we got a:
Warm chai tea latte – delicious
Coconut Steamer – daughter said it was awesome
Bacon breakfast sandwich on brioche – this is always a hit for me
Oatmeal – my daughter liked it! It’s made with water rather than milk, in case anyone has a dairy allergy. I’m sure you could upgrade to warm milk for a cost. It comes with brown sugar and walnuts. Note, the picture on their board shows blueberries, but a little sign in their display case notes it only comes with the brown sugar and walnuts. Just FYI
We opted to get ourselves a treat before we left, and each got a muffin. I got the blueberry and my daughter got the lemon poppyseed. We both noticed after biting into them that they were dense and “sticky” as my daughter put it. It looked and tasted like they had been previously frozen and then thawed. They did not look like the muffins shown in the display case (picture of display case taken after we ordered, showing the case is still full and we did not receive a muffin from the case). This was the only disappointing part of our adventure, but we will definitely come back another time. I will note that on a previous trip here, I had gotten a scone that was more dry than usual for scones. Still a great atmosphere to come for a drink and hang out with friends, or on your own!

Terrible coffee, took the lid off to dump out the remaining of my 12oz toffee caramel latte and saw this. What is that? Nothing in a coffee should harden like this. So gross!

Met a friend for some much needed mom time today. My first time here. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in. The store was clean and well kept. I ordered a blueberry muffin and a protein mango slushy. The muffin looked and tasted like the ones you buy from hyvee. I’d give it a 3/10. The mango slushy however was quite delicious. And I’d give it a 9/10.

We live in Omaha but every time we have to travel to Des Moines we make it a point to stop by here and get at the very least their amazing chorizo empanadas. The staff is so friendly and timely. 10/10 can’t wait to be back

Tim from Twisted Bean catered our office holiday party last week, and the drinks were a big hit! The set up was professional and nicely organized. There were 9 drink offerings including coffee and non-coffee options, and seasonal holiday flavors. The set up and tear down was quick and efficient. We would definitely hire Twisted Bean again in the future.

Chocolate covered espresso bean ($2.95) were fresh. Homemade Granola ($7.00) – excellent!

A nice coffee place! The roasted marshmallow latte was pretty sweet but the espresso was good. We had the brown sugar scone and it was a little dry but we still finished it 😉

Very spacious cafe.

For plant based they offer açai bowls and granola without yogurt.

I like the seating options here. There are booths, couches, tables and high top seating. A meeting room to reserve towards the front of the cafe.
