Meat the skewers is an Indonesian food truck located across from the Dollar Tree in Twinfalls at the Food truck square. This cutely decorated food truck serves a variety of foreign authentic dishes from noodles to skewers and different grilled meats even seafood, they also serve BEAUTIFUL from scratch Island style drinks served in big 32 oz pouches, we tried the tropical mango and the Thai iced tea , the sweet Thai iced tea had a deep rich slightly caramel flavor with a smooth creamy texture, it was absolutely delicious!!! The tropical mango has chunks of fruit and has a tart sweet flavor with notes of guava and it was also very good. The food we ordered was very authentic and they make everything from scratch from their native country, we got the plate with beef, chicken, and shrimp served on a seasoned yellow rice and a delicious Hawaiian style macaroni salad and a Indonesian style caramel pudding that was creamy and sweet. I recommend anyone who has an interest in trying authentic food to give this place a try.

This isn’t a bad review, but an honest one. We’ve never heard of this place. A random search (we’re on a food truck kick, since there’s nothing here to eat except the boring usual — this is Twin, not Boise) popped up on Facebook then Google brought us here, to Meat the Skewer, which we thought was a Middle Eastern skewer meat place.

It’s Indonesian. What?

I know better than to order anything that’s not Indonesian-sounding, so the teriyaki chicken plate my husband ordered was predictably off-the-mark (we’re Hawaii ex-pats), with the mac salad being too sweet and the chicken not really tasting marinated enough in the teriyaki sauce.

The lumpia seemed iffy too, it’s Filipino, and it’s traditionally, at least in Hawaii, where we grew up, very very thin. So my husband ordered two helpings of six pieces, and they were the size of burritos!!! Plus, they had corn in them, weird. But they tasted just about right, not lumpia, though, but more like the Mainland version of Thai spring rolls (technically, we’re used to Mekong/Keo’s in Hawaii serving real rice paper spring rolls you wrap in lettuce leaves).

The star is the satay, preferably the chicken, which is a lot more tender than the beef. Loved the curry rice, never had that before. Everything else I’d pass on.

It was the first time my boyfriend and I tried Indonesian food. Very good! We ordered the pork belly dish, which was absolutely delish. Excited to stop by again next year!

Meat The Skewer, if you like Asian food this is the spot. Authentic Asian fare with heavy Indonesian influence. Asian street food at its best this side of the Mississippi!
Sadly the beef ribs aren’t on the menu any longer and that’s all y’all’s fault for not buying it no local brick and mortar restaurant can touch this food truck for flavor. If you like the heat ask for the chili sauce. The drinks the craft by hand are very generous. Chunks of fruit and served in a heavy duty sealable bag with a straw. Yeah no need for a cup holder or a worry about it spilling if you take it on the go! Enieka and Art are extremely friendly and will have a conversation with you if they aren’t busy (a rarity). Try the yellow curry, so yummy.

This is something I was really excited about but it typically is underwhelming with just one or two trucks and there is never a taco truck. I’d suggest offering trucks incentives or something because this place will fail if they can’t keep it stocked with at least 5 trucks.
