On our way from Waterton to Calgary, we made a quick pit stop at a general store that, to our surprise, served Mexican food. It turned out to be a hidden gem. For a spot pretty much in the middle of nowhere, the food was surprisingly decent and flavorful.
The place had a casual, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating and an impressive selection of hot sauces to try. The menu wasn’t overly complicated, but the flavors delivered more than we expected. It definitely hit the spot after a long drive.
If you ever find yourself on that route and craving something warm and satisfying, this unexpected little Mexican joint is worth the stop.

I have been stopping in at this rural restaurant/corner store for well over a decade now. The Mexican food here is about as good as it gets for anywhere south of Calgary. The cholesterol burger is also one of my favourite items…
The portions served here are very generous so I recommend coming here with a good appetite. I believe they still have live music on Fridays and Saturday nights. Mostly local patrons are what you will generally find in the offseason from about October to May…

I felt like I was transported to Puerto Vallarta. We literally drove the longer way back to Lethbridge from Waterton specifically to eat here and it did not disappoint. Truly a hidden gem. Stop for an ice cream at the Grumpy Goat before you leave. muchas gracias

The people are very nice, the food is decent, the prices are very good, the location is good for those of us passing by.
I don’t know why I doubled up on the chimichangas, one would have been enough with a side of rice or beans. The smoked brisket in my chimichanga was quite good.
Now my food score is factoring in some quite competitive pricing, and the overall score factors in the location. My room temperature can or pop came with a glass with ice in it; not an ideal configuration but I am sure that’s not typical here.
I would stop here again, which I suppose is the score that really matters.

We came in an hour before they closed and they made us a custom meal to fit our dietary needs without complaint. Service was excellent. All the food was delicious ! Beautiful views . Only thing that could have been better was family friendly music without f-bombs. We will be back !

A guy getting gas beside me in Pincher Creek asked if we were going to Waterton. I said yes and he said we had to stop at Twin Butte General Store for food on the way back. I never got his name but, Holy Hell that dude was on point. Amazing Mexican food and fair pricing to boot. Do yourself a favour and eat here. The truth can always be found at the gas station!

My husband wanted to take a drive to Waterton but also take me to this Mexican Restaurant in Twin Butte. I’m so glad we stopped in and ate there. You won’t be disappointed, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly.
The only thing is…. drop ins might be turned away if you don’t have a reservation or if they are very busy. Reservations are a must for this popular place.
But they will try to fit you as they did with us, which we really appreciate it!! Just be patient and kind. The experience is worth it.

This place serves wonderful Mexican food. I’ve come here couple of times and have never been disappointed. I love the ambiance and the generous servings. If you’re visiting during the winter, you should try their pork chop special, it’s a must! Courtney and the rest of the staff are amazing. They make their hot sauces and you can buy them at the counter. This place is a hidden gem.

An excellent stop after a day of hiking or exploring in Waterton. The atmosphere is friendly, food is fantastic, and they have a large selection of small batch hot sauces that are fun to experiment with.
