Tuskers Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the best character dining experiences on property. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of energy, and the character interactions were outstanding. Every character took their time at the table, joked around, posed for photos, and genuinely made it feel personal instead of rushed. It is an incredible spot for families and honestly just as fun for adults who still appreciate the Disney magic.
The food was exactly what I needed between rides. The buffet has a great mix of fresh options, flavorful African inspired dishes, carved meats, and solid comfort staples. Plenty of variety without feeling overwhelming. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared.
The specialty cocktails were surprisingly good too. Not just theme park drinks, but actually crafted well and refreshing. Perfect break in the middle of a busy park day.
Chris, our waiter, was incredible. Attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without hovering. He kept drinks full, cleared plates quickly, and made the whole experience smooth and relaxed.
If you are visiting Animal Kingdom and want a fun, high energy character meal with great food and strong service, Tuskers absolutely delivers. One of the best dining stops in the park.

This is easily THE BEST RESTAURANT I’VE EVER BEEN TO! I have a sensitive stomach and everything agreed with me. The staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND! They were very welcoming and helpful to my wife that has diverticulosis. The chef came out multiple times to see and go over what my wife needed and my son too as he has a cinnamon allergy and EOE. The characters all came out multiple times and were very nice and incredible to interact with. Our waiter was fantastic from start to finish. Chef Tray was an angel and overall incredible human being. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life and look forward to returning the next time I come to animal kingdom.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food flavors were overwhelmingly strong and unappealing to our family. Many dishes had heavy curry or sweet, unusual seasonings, including the chicken and even the plain white rice, which tasted strongly of vinegar. The desserts all contained unexpected fruit flavors, and there were virtually no simple or neutral options available for guests who do not enjoy these flavor profiles. Even the cornbread cakes had strong, unfamiliar seasoning. We left the meal feeling nauseous and uncomfortable, and the only item we were able to enjoy was the salad bar with ranch dressing.
In addition to the food, the overall dining experience was chaotic and unpleasant. Guests were crowding and competing aggressively for food, which made the buffet stressful rather than enjoyable.
We were seated for over an hour yet only met two of the four advertised characters, which was very disappointing given the price and expectations of a character dining experience.
Compounding this, we arrived during heavy rain and were soaked while rushing to the reservation. The hostess outside and the hostess inside were both unfriendly and dismissive. We were spoken to rudely while being directed where to place our soaked stroller, at a time when we were simply trying to get out of the rain and settle our family.

First and foremost, this is a character breakfast review. We accompanied children and grandchildren. The food is good. Nice selection of foods I’ve never had as an American but enjoyed trying. Omelette station with quick service cooked to order perfectly. Awesome building with neat decorative attributes.
Kids love this. That’s what really makes it worth the price. The seating with reservations for breakfast was fast and prompt. Our server was awesome. Kept us full of drinks, table cleared and made sure none of the characters missed our table.

Dined here back in Superbowl Sunday 2017 (Slow day for theme parks). At the time it was $50 for unlimited buffet. Pricey, but the food was great. I’m overdue to share this story about the character interaction.
My wife broke her wrist ice skating and was attending the park in a cast. Mickey comes over to our table and, through pantomiming, starts pointing to the various photos on the wall, asking us if we saw that animal yet. He leaves, Goofy visits, he spots the cast and again, pantomiming, starts lecturing me about my wife’s cast. I explain I wasn’t even there and point out you’d think Goofy of all people would me sympathetic to someone having an accident and getting injured, but he’s not having it. He leaves and comes back, now Mickey is in on it with him. Finally after a few minutes of this I say “Well at least I didn’t say she fell down the stairs! Give me some points for creativity.” That broke Mickey, he puts his head against the wall. Goofy facepalms in horror. It was great. Probably the closest I’ve come to a magical moment, breaking two Disney legends.

Pricey! $490 for 5 “adults” and 1 child. Then getting hit with the mandatory 18% tip, this meal got pricey quickly. Service was pretty good, far from the best we’ve had at Disney. Atmosphere was fun, and the characters gave us plenty of attention. Some of the food was really good, some was pretty meh, and tough filling a plate for family members who don’t enjoy international foods or just have have adventurous palates. I really wanted to score this one higher personally, but most of my family wasn’t satisfied, and at that price I can’t be very forgiving there.
Also worth noting, you have to buy admission to the park to access this restaurant.

The characters were great. Lots of interaction. Frequent visits. They spent a lot of time with our group, very entertaining and funny. Goofy was amazing.
Service was great. Our server was timely. She was very polite and checked on us often. She had suggestions and was very patient around our kids interacting with characters.
The food was real bad. Pork was dry, rotisserie chicken was old. Salmon was ok though. Just very disappointed in the quality of the food espec the main entrees etc. Several other options were just mush in a pan. The plantains for example, I decided not to try, they were clearly there for awhile. Several dishes were just ok. There was honestly nothing that stood out, or that I could honestly reccomend. The salad looked fresh.
Actually the tomato salad with mozzarella was good.
I would not recommend going here for dinner in any way. I tried just about all of it, none of it was worth eating a meal especially for this cost.
Its very expensive for such sub par food, both my wife and I were equally unhappy with the quality of the meal.

Lots of different and unique food offerings, cooked well. Tandoori Chicken, Berbere Pork, Curry Salmon…lots of different flavored salads too. The fried plantains were great! My 7 year old grandson was happy with the chicken strips and mac and cheese. There was a fun selection of little mini desserts that were all yummy. The vibe and service was fun and the Disney characters were there and roaming through the tables the entire time. This was a fun lunch. We went in, on a weekday, without a reservation, and were able to get right in after telling the Disney app we were on the way. Be prepared for the bill because it isn’t cheap, but for me, worth the experience! Besides the safari ride, lunch at the Tusker House, was the best part of my day.

For breakfast, it is the best character experience we have had at disney. The food was pretty good, but each character was able to visit many times. To the point our son was almost tired of seeing them, probably ten times each (not a complaint, surely got our money’s worh!)

Easily the best I’ve had ever at Disney. We’ve been here the last three times, and whoever made the changes needs major kudos. Before it was just okay, but this time everything was fantastic. Except the guava mousse, that was weird lol. If you come to animal kingdom make sure you eat at tusker house.
