I always appericate a place where the chef cares about the food and people.
Service was great, server very attentive and the Chef came up to our table to ask us to write a review.
Really nice guy his name is Sri and he clearly cared about the food and its quality. I ordered the steak fajitas and steak was so flavourful and tender. Pico de gallo, lettuce and cooked veggies were flavourful and crispy.
My friends got the wings and they were lightly breaded and great flavour.
Great place, great food, would recommend.

Very friendly staff. The chef even came out to personally ask how our food was, which was a really nice touch. My husband had the roti and said it was fantastic. I ordered the wings — perfectly crispy — and the island sauce was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!”

Went there on Oct 10, seated near bar. Crowd was loud..ended up moving to back..waitress was not happy. Ordered food and hubby ordered Canadian prime burger and I had fajitas. Hubbys burger was wrong ..brought mushroom Swiss instead. Hubby allergic to mushrooms. Told Brie our waitress …she just stared us and never offered a “sorry” but said I will bring you another. Finally brought correct burger and hubby asked for a refill. Brie never brought it and hubby went and got his own refill. She never came and asked how are food was or anything. Hubby had to go to the bar to get Brie to bring me my bill. The attitude on this waitress’s face was of disdain and you could clearly see she was pissed off with us! Her 0 tip was a reflection of her “great” service. Was there in the summer and it has gone downhill since then! I will be sure to tell all I know to avoid this restaurant! Picture is some burnt thing that was on my plate ..not an onion or peppers or anything pertaining to my fajitas!

We came in for lunch on sunday at around 11am since we were going to the show. There was a couple people at the bar and nobody really in the dining room. We were sat pretty quickly but after that it wasn’t great. Initial orders were taken and we got the appetizer which tasted a tad sour (but we didnt say anything) and she took our main orders. We got our mains and she asked if we needed refills on our drinks. To which she stuck her fingers in our glasses to pick them up and then vanished to go back to the bar to talk to the guys there. We were nearly Through our meals and had to try to flag her down twice before she finally came back with our refills.
The guys at the bar were loud and swearing when younger children came in(not her fault)
My mother’s stir-fry was swimming in sauce. Overall food tasted fine besides the spin dip. Service was not great. The booths and windows were pooly patched due to wear and tear. Probably wont be back.
Oh and two people ordered fish and chips and we got an empty bottle of vinegar.

We had the pleasure of dining at Turtle John’s and would definitely recommend it. I had the Steak and Mushroom Pie and the better half had the Beef Stuffed Yorkshire. The better half had a Caesar which he said was one of the best he had tasted and I had the Turtle House pint which was excellent. Food was piping hot and the meat was so tender and tasty. Our server, Victoria, was efficient, friendly and engaging. When we asked her to tell the chef how much we enjoyed our dinner he came out to speak to us personally. He is indeed a culinary genius so if you are ever in Port Hope don’t miss this dining experience. You won’t be disappointed.

I was here for dinner on Canada Day. I wanted something light, so decided to go ahead with their soup of the day. What a good decision!
It was rich, creamy, all vegetarian, flavourful, packed with spices but not overwhelming and so filling as well. Portion size was great. Service was amazing. They made recommendations for my friends too as per their taste buds.
Ambience was casual, very family-pub like and felt warm and cozy.
Special shoutout to Ramesh for the soup recipe!!

Jess is the most phenomenal bartender, she is sweet and bubbly and I’ve always had a great experience with her! She does an undeniably outstanding job behind the bar. She is fast paced and overall amazing. I highly recommend TJ’s.

Had lunch yesterday and Sue was our bartender/server, she was fantastic! Super attentive without hovering, made great recommendations, and kept everything moving quickly. Drinks were perfect, food came out just right, and Sue made the whole experience really enjoyable. Definitely coming back for lunch with her again!
