We were there for two full hours and left feeling frustrated and let down. They were only offering a preset three-course Valentine’s menu instead of their regular options, which we weren’t aware of beforehand, and nobody informed us of this until 40-50 minuets of being seated and I had already ordered my drink. The restaurant was overcrowded and clearly very overwhelmed.
The food itself was absolutely unacceptable. The salad was soggy, the beef stroganoff was totally undercooked, the noodles were weirdly crunchy and mushrooms undercooked. It was genuinely inedible. For a special holiday dinner priced at $140, we expected quality, or at the very least, food we could actually eat.
Service was just as disappointing. Drinks took forever to arrive, (1 single espresso martini and some waters) and servers rarely checked in. We could overhear staff complaining about how busy they were and about having to wash dishes, which didn’t exactly create a romantic atmosphere. My boyfriend had to go back and forth multiple times just to get the bill adjusted. They eventually reduced it to $80, and gave us the preset dessert to go, but even that felt like far too much for the experience we had.
It’s really unfortunate because this was meant to be a special night for us. Instead, it felt chaotic, overpriced, and poorly executed. We definitely won’t be returning.
The crab dip was good. The turkey pesto sandwich was warm with melted cheese and a crunchy baguettes roll. The butternut squash soup was smooth with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Only minor complaint is the choice of country music playing on the patio didn’t seem to match the vibe of the restaurant. I would expect some classic jazz or French bistro type music.
Join this amazing team and bring your friends and family to enjoy some of the best food north of Seattle.
Thank you
Would love to come back in the summer and sit on the patio!
There were 6 of us so we ordered many items. The most delicious and memorable dishes include: smoked salmon crostini, the pear brie flatbread, the Toscana soup (so good!), the Reuben sandwich, and the BLT. The mixed drinks are yummy and boozy. Our favorites include the Tequila mockingbird and Warm me up buttercup.
It’s a small place but somehow managed to squeeze live music into the space. The service was impeccable. The setting oozes charm with fine attention to details. It feels like you’re at a friend’s house, but the friend happened to be a master chef.
This would be a fantastic place to grab a bite or drink in the summer and we’re definitely planning on coming back soon.
