Visiting a friend in the Plymouth area and we decided to go to Tumeric House for dinner. Food is light on spice and flavor, but enjoyable with great service.
For starters we ordered the Plymouth Vegetarian Platter with vegetable samosa, vegetable pakora, gobi pakora, veg momo & cheese kofta. More than enough for 3 people to share, we enjoyed all of the flavors.
For dinner I ordered the Matar Paneer served with rice for the table. My dish was very light on spice and flavor with mild heat. My partner ordered the Shaag Paneer saying the dish was good but again light on spice and flavor with medium heat. Our friend ordered the Chana Masala and loved his dish. We did order some Naan for the table which I did not eat.
Overall, food and service are fine, would have liked a bit more flavor in the curry dishes.
The restaurant is small with the front door sitting right on Court Street, allowing the cold October air to fill the front of the restaurant as people enter and leave after dinner or the many take-out orders picked up.

I gave three stars because one of the items we ordered was not correct and also because there was a foreign object found in the paneer dish. I posted a picture of it. This was our first time eating here we got takeout. We ordered two paneer entrees a shrimp entree, a chicken entree, a vegetable entree, a spinach and cheese naan, a coconut naan, and a fried vegetable appetizer. Quite a bit of rice came with the order. Overall the food was not bad. The chicken dish was not white meat chicken breast and that is what we are usually used to when getting food from other establishments. I would have preferred the white meat chicken breast but it was okay with the dark meat. The spinach naan said that it was cheese and spinach, it definitely was spinach but no one noticed any cheese in it. We ordered the coconut naan which everyone loves but unfortunately even though we paid $2 more for coconut naan we did not get coconut naan, we just got plain naan. We were charged for the coconut naan so somebody in the kitchen just made a mistake and gave us the plain. It was kind of disappointing we really do usually love coconut naan when we get it from other establishments. Then there is the issue of the foreign matter that was in the paneer. I posted a picture of it here with the review. It was a heavy type of white paper. I very quickly realized that there was something weird in my mouth and spit it out. We actually ordered two orders of paneer so we immediately poured them both out into a larger bowl and looked through them to make sure that there was nothing else in them that wasn’t supposed to be there. In conclusion the food really was decent but because of the one item being messed up and especially because of the piece of foreign matter being found in the food I don’t know if we will give them another try. With that said the town really needs good places to eat and a nice variety so maybe give them a try and make your own decision.

This was my second visit. All the food I’ve had has been fresh and delicious. The portions are very generous and I would highly recommend trying it if you haven’t.

A warm, inviting place to enjoy dinner if you’re craving flavorful Indian cuisine. I enjoyed the lamb – Laal Mass (in red sauce) and my mom had the Seafood Curry (orange sauce).

If it’s your first time trying Indian food, this the best place to go. I mean bro, the food was incredibly delicious, pack with flavor. I recommend the goat biriani, and the goat saag , and the chicken masala, all that enough to full 4 people and left overs. I love this place

This place is just fantastic! The only thing is parking it can be a little tough but the food is so worth it to spend 10 minutes finding a spot. And that’s when it’s summer time or peak times. I got the butter chicken the tandoori premier kabobs with red onions and tri-colored peppers and some sort of sauce (deliciousness) that goes on the side. It also came with pickled vegetables carrots cauliflower and pepperoncini. I love the garlic naan I love it all really way too much for me but I needed to try a few things . Mom and dad will be getting leftovers!

Tasty, filling and delicious. Good service, very busy and glad I stopped in early. My group shared our food dishes all around the table. Left feeling so full. My only wish was being able to increase the spices/hot value with some of the meals, love my Indian food spicy . But like I said even without having that ability it was still really tasty.

This was my first time at the Plymouth location and its just as good as the Weymouth location. I always get the garlic naan and butter chicken, but this time I also got the mango curry which was equally as delicious. The mocktails also were very good.

We have been wanting to try Turmeric since it opened. We asked
“IndianFood” regulars& relatives from 65 miles away to go with us. They are Vegetarians so their selections were different than ours. We all agreed the food, from the Vegetarian Platter to the main dishes, Vegetarian Korma, Shahi Paneer Korma, Tandoori Shrimp & Kashmiri Tikki was EXCELLENT! It was all around flavorful, just the right spice & great variety. They said, “why is this restaurant so far from us”? Lucky WE live in Plymouth. My husband’s new FAVORITE restaurant.

Plymouth finally has a good Indian food restaurant. The food was fantastic, great selection as well. I can’t say enough how well prepared the food was here. My complaint would be the atmosphere. There was no music playing. The chairs were very uncomfortable, it felt like the A/C was off and they don’t serve alcohol to people. This may not be the best date night restaurant but it’s surely a great takeout spot.
