I love Turkish food, and this place was pretty good overall. We ordered the special village beef kebab I was expecting it to be softer, but it came as chunks of beef that were a bit tough. The white and red sauces (not sure of the names) were really tasty, though! The service was great, and I’ll definitely be going back to try their chicken cheese kebab next time.

The previous 4-stars has been updated ★★★☆☆ (3/5). Here’s the reason

On December 28, 2025, a guest and I returned to Turkish Kebab House for a second visit, this time opting for online pickup rather than dining in. Our return was driven by how much we enjoyed our initial visit back in May, particularly the Mixed Shish & Chicken plate.

This visit started with a phone call due to some confusion with online ordering. The gentleman who answered was helpful and walked us through the process, advising us to add a note requesting extra pita bread. When we arrived to pick up the order and checked the bag, the extra pita was missing. After mentioning it to the same gentleman who remembered speaking with us he promptly corrected the issue and provided the additional pita. That part of the interaction was handled well.

Unfortunately, once we returned home and sat down to eat, the overall experience did not live up to our previous visit. The meat was noticeably dry, lacking the tenderness and flavor we remembered. Additionally, two sauces that should have been included per the online order were missing, which further impacted the meal. The salad, which had been fresh and enjoyable during our dine-in experience, was also underwhelming this time.

Based on this visit, it seems there may be a difference in food preparation and quality between dine-in and online pickup orders. Our in-restaurant experience earlier this year was far superior to this takeout order.

That said, Turkish Kebab House has shown that they can deliver excellent food when dining in. I would still recommend the restaurant with the suggestion to eat on-site whenever possible for the best representation of their cuisine.

I’m hopeful this was an off night, and I’d consider giving them another try in person. Consistency between dine-in and online orders would go a long way toward maintaining the high impression they made during our first visit.

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! I ordered the lamb shish kebab, shepherd’s salad, and mixed eggplant salad, while my wife had the lentil soup and chicken shish kebab. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The lamb and chicken were tender and well-seasoned, and the salads complemented the meal beautifully. On top of the delicious food, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Turkish cuisine!

Adana and chicken kabob were divine, bursting with flavor, especially the Adana

Hummus is quite literally the best hummus I’ve ever had. Made in house, it is a must-get. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed

Since moving to Pittsburgh, I’ve been on a mission to find a good shawarma or any solid Mediterranean wrap/sandwich. I tried Turkish Kebab House tonight, and it did not disappoint. The food was great.

The service was top notch as well. The waiter staff working there was single-handedly running the entire place effortlessly — waiting on tables, handling phone calls, helping DoorDashers, and tending to walk-ins, all with great energy.

I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. Definitely recommend!

Parking is incredibly tough for a first timer in the area. I spent a solid ten minutes looking for parking. If you’re parking on Forbes expect to pay $2 on the street for 1.5 hr parking.

The food was 4/5 for sure. I wouldn’t say 5/5 as it’s missing some flavor for me to make it 5/5. However, it tasted really well. My wife went with ground chicken adana which she was pleased with. I too had the Chicken Kebab.

Was hoping to see sharwarma rotating but I don’t think they have that here.

Well, years after trying out Selami’s, I’m finally fulfilling my promise to myself to try this spot out. To my knowledge, they are owned by the same people and the menu is the same; this is just a different location. Still, I got to try out a bunch of new items, some that I haven’t seen in any other restaurant in Pittsburgh. I got to try out the Mersin Tantuni wrap, chicken Adana wrap, 2 side sauces, and their rice pudding.

Starting with the very familiar, the rice pudding was great. Super creamy, a nice dusting of cinnamon on the top without it being overwhelming. Reasonable portion. Nicely packaged. I liked it!

The chicken Adana wrap was also so, so good. This was my favorite of the 2 wraps. The chicken is perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Really enjoyed it.

This was my first time trying the Mersin Tantuni wrap. It’s finely mixed meat with vegetables in a wrap. The wrap itself is unique — not really like pita, and more like a paratha if you’re familiar with those. The beef is cooked well and definitely has quite a kick of spice to it. Not a ton of vegetables, but still, very nice wrap.

It was great to dip the wraps (especially the spicy beef one) in the yogurt based sauce. This sauce was more liquidy than other yogurt sauces I’ve had at places, but still good. The other sauce was also pretty tasty and mild.

All in all, this is a great place. Lots of delicious food options here, and the food is definitely high quality.
