We went for lunch and waited about 10 minutes in line—totally worth it! Grabbed a spot outside and even shared a table with another couple, which made it feel super friendly and casual.

The collard green sandwich is an absolute flavor bomb—packed with slaw, cheese, and collards, every bite is a taste explosion. I couldn’t get enough!

The fried bologna sandwich is definitely a must-try too. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the mustard—it was a little sweet for my taste—but I totally get why it’s a favorite. My palate just might differ from yours!

And the Dill Pickle Pimm’s Cup? Amazing. Refreshing, tangy, and the perfect complement to these flavorful sandwiches. Overall, everything here is worth a stop! ✨

The cabbage salad the absolutely the best salad I’ve had in my life. Not only is the size and flavor exceptional, but all of the toppings are so well spread/ mixed throughout that you get done of everything in every bite, so the whole experience is wonderful. Aside from that, the place is accessible, employees are knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Included photos are the cabbage salad and the bologna sandwich (which is also excellent). Highly recommend. I regret putting off my first visit for so long due to being falsely informed that this is “just a sandwich place”. It’s much better than that. There was a line to order food about 10 minutes but it was constantly moving. The staff allowed a disabled companion to sit wherever while waiting to order .

Went in for Bon Appetite’s “Best Sandwich shop in the US”. Left with tears in my eyes, a very happy tummy, and a new appreciation for the magic of a perfectly toasted middle slice of bread.

I was stressed about what to order so I actually did the social interaction and asked the staff for their opinion if they could only choose one. They both said “well just come back” (and that they’ve got locations in Vegas and Nashville now!) but then said the collard green melt was their most popular. So I went for it, despite not loving collard green or coleslaw. My friend, my eyes were opened. The coleslaw was peppery, cold, and crunchy which provided the most amazing contrast of temperature and texture to the magic that was the collard greens. The pepper sauce. I could write a novel on that alone. I’ve never had collard greens with so much flavor I would actually ask for seconds but man those were more than I knew collards could ever be. And, as one might expect, the cheese and bread and condiments obviously were the accompaniments one who is a connoisseur of the craft, as they are, would pick to round out the most perfect Best Sandwich in America.

When the staff came to check on me, I apologized for being so emotional over just a sandwich. I’m a few years into recovering from an eating disorder and everything about the beauty of this moment was a lot to handle. Sitting alone, housing the best sandwich you’ve ever had, and feeling so much joy from it you’ve got tears streaming down while Bad Bunny jams in the background and the community around is simply thriving.

They said “Don’t worry. It happens all the time here.”

Fantastic experience. Waited in line maybe 30 minutes or so, and was well worth every minute. The taco blew me away, the fried bologna was huge! Fries were excellent. Can’t wait to go back

If I could rate 6 out of 5 stars I would! It was so nostalgic with the retro plates and figurines and decor!

The restaurant is a little small for the volume i witnessed on the day we came. They do have outdoor seating too.

Food wise oh man! It was amazing! This was our last stop before leaving NOLA and it made it was the cherry on top. The portion and menu options were abundant and everything came out nice and hot and ready to eat. I can’t wait to come back.

Just be aware parking can be a challenge.

Fairly modest menu but every item executed to perfection. You can tell there’s a lot of thought in every bite at this place. Maximum flavor but in very unexpected combinations.
To go is ok for the ham but the bologna and melt really are better hot.

Can get crowded on weekends especially post Michelin guide but throughput is quite fast. Try to hit it up on a week day if you can!

Found this gem on TikTok and was highly impressed by the lunch we got! The food had all our taste buds stirring! We got there at 11am when they opened and there was already a line. Service was quick! They did have a lot of political views posted which was brave imo. Would return and recommend!

Sandwiches were good, but I hate to say it: overhyped. Innovative flavors, and certainly original. Atmosphere is really nice and welcoming. I wanted to love it, and it’s good, but not great. We tried the fried bologna sandwich, collard greens sandwich, wedge salad, and taco. My favorite thing was the taco. Clearly, people love it so maybe still worth a try if visiting New Orleans.

A small place with lots of energy, where the sandwiches definitely live up to the hype. Three of us went there on a cloudy day in November, on my first visit to New Orleans and there was a line out the door but the wait ended up being not too bad at all. The Collared Green Melt had my name all over it and I had been eyeing it on their menu for days in advance. It was truly my perfect sandwich: melty, earthy, and spicy and I have been dreaming about it ever since.

Vegetarian perspective

Came here while visiting and I already miss this place so much! I got the collard green melt and feel like I could have eaten that every day for lunch…. incredible. I had heard good things about their vegan chicken sandwich too but didn’t get to try it.

Place had great chill vibes, indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday around noon and had no wait.
