The collard green sandwich is an absolute flavor bomb—packed with slaw, cheese, and collards, every bite is a taste explosion. I couldn’t get enough!
The fried bologna sandwich is definitely a must-try too. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the mustard—it was a little sweet for my taste—but I totally get why it’s a favorite. My palate just might differ from yours!
And the Dill Pickle Pimm’s Cup? Amazing. Refreshing, tangy, and the perfect complement to these flavorful sandwiches. Overall, everything here is worth a stop! ✨
I was stressed about what to order so I actually did the social interaction and asked the staff for their opinion if they could only choose one. They both said “well just come back” (and that they’ve got locations in Vegas and Nashville now!) but then said the collard green melt was their most popular. So I went for it, despite not loving collard green or coleslaw. My friend, my eyes were opened. The coleslaw was peppery, cold, and crunchy which provided the most amazing contrast of temperature and texture to the magic that was the collard greens. The pepper sauce. I could write a novel on that alone. I’ve never had collard greens with so much flavor I would actually ask for seconds but man those were more than I knew collards could ever be. And, as one might expect, the cheese and bread and condiments obviously were the accompaniments one who is a connoisseur of the craft, as they are, would pick to round out the most perfect Best Sandwich in America.
When the staff came to check on me, I apologized for being so emotional over just a sandwich. I’m a few years into recovering from an eating disorder and everything about the beauty of this moment was a lot to handle. Sitting alone, housing the best sandwich you’ve ever had, and feeling so much joy from it you’ve got tears streaming down while Bad Bunny jams in the background and the community around is simply thriving.
They said “Don’t worry. It happens all the time here.”
The restaurant is a little small for the volume i witnessed on the day we came. They do have outdoor seating too.
Food wise oh man! It was amazing! This was our last stop before leaving NOLA and it made it was the cherry on top. The portion and menu options were abundant and everything came out nice and hot and ready to eat. I can’t wait to come back.
Just be aware parking can be a challenge.
To go is ok for the ham but the bologna and melt really are better hot.
Can get crowded on weekends especially post Michelin guide but throughput is quite fast. Try to hit it up on a week day if you can!
Came here while visiting and I already miss this place so much! I got the collard green melt and feel like I could have eaten that every day for lunch…. incredible. I had heard good things about their vegan chicken sandwich too but didn’t get to try it.
Place had great chill vibes, indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday around noon and had no wait.
