If you’re all about good vibes, great brunch photos, and Southern comfort food that doesn’t taste like every basic brunch spot, Tupelo Honey in Irving is worth a stop. This place serves up chef-inspired Southern classics with a modern twist—think fried chicken & waffles, stone-ground grits, shrimp & grits, and fried green tomatoes that are juicy, flavorful, and Instagram-worthy.

The atmosphere is warm and laid-back, perfect for weekend brunch with friends or a chill dinner date. It’s stylish but not stuffy, with plenty of cozy corners and rustic touches that make it feel like a Southern hangout rather than just another chain restaurant.

People usually rave about the brunch and comfort dishes, and the cocktails are creative enough to make happy hour worth it too. While a few diners are mixed on consistency, most reviews lean positive, especially for casual group outings or social meals that pair great food with even better conversation.

Whether you’re grabbing bottomless brunch or dinner with friends, Tupelo Honey hits that sweet spot between Southern comfort and trendy brunch energy—definitely a spot to add to your Las Colinas restaurant list.

Truly disappointing from start to finish.

We waited over 40 minutes for our food with zero check-ins, no water refills, and no acknowledgment of the delay. Being busy is understandable. Being ignored is not.

When the food finally arrived, my order was incorrect. Instead of fixing it, the server casually said “it’s the same thing, just a different sauce” and handed me 2 cups of sauce as if that resolved the issue. That response alone set the tone for the rest of the experience.

After nearly an hour of waiting, the food quality was equally underwhelming. My husband’s sausage was so tough it was difficult to chew. My chicken was dry, overcooked, and still wrong. For the prices charged, the quality and service were simply unacceptable.

Long wait, inattentive service, incorrect order handling, and disappointing food. There is nothing about this experience that would justify returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Food is tremendous, as are the drinks.

Blackened Mahi Mahi was damn near perfect – spice was on point and the sauce was creamy.

Fried okra was excellent. The collard greens with the bacon had a good amount of heat to them.

Did take a bit to get our food and we didnt get our greens with the order – had to ask for them to be brought out to us.

Overall though, would definitely come back for the food.

My husband and I went for our anniversary before a concert and I would definitely come back.

I would like to mention if you are not a huge fan of breakfast items or food, this place is heavily revolved around a menu similar to that with dinner fusions.

I had no idea what to expect (not from Texas area) and the food felt soulful. We started with the fried pickles and the biscuits with peach and blueberry jam/butter combo (its an extra dollar for both which wasnt a big deal for us). The pickles were dusted with “bee pollen” which made them the perfect sweet and savory. The biscuits were so so fluffy and the combo on the jam/butter was fabulous.

For our main courses my husband got the smothered chicken with goat cheese grits and crispy potatoes, as well as a cup of the chicken soup. The soup was comforting, it was savory with a hint of sweet. The chicken was so good as well as the sides, the goat cheese grits weren’t my fan favorite but that was based off personal taste.
I received the Peppercorn Meatloaf with crispy Brussels and the Mac and cheese. Everything was so favulous and our server was so so attentive. The atmosphere, the merch and hospitality was amazing. Definitely worth the check out

We visited for a weekend ladies’ trip breakfast, and while the location has potential, the experience was disappointing due to rigidity and basic issues.

First, we had to move our party outside immediately because the indoor dining area had a distinct, unpleasant odor (possibly a plumbing issue).

The main frustration came when ordering. I wanted to try the fried green tomatoes with a side of chicken. Our server, who was helpful, initially advised the side came as two pieces (thighs or breasts). However, they quickly returned to say the restaurant was out of a la carte chicken thighs. Shockingly, the manager refused to accommodate a simple substitution for a chicken leg or wing instead. This unwillingness to be flexible when an item is out of stock is a significant issue for customer service.

Other surprising limitations to note:

The restaurant does not carry any fresh fruit.

The only non-pork breakfast meats available are a side of two chicken pieces, chicken tenders, or vegan soy-sage.

Be aware that the red pepper sauce is surprisingly spicy (a minor point, but worth mentioning).

Overall, the food we did receive was adequate, but the service inflexibility and the unusual menu gaps mean that I will likely not return to this location.

This is a very cute not too large restaurant for a good brunch or lunch. The food was amazing, and the service there was over the top. Has outdoor seating, and would make a good place for a small group to go and get something to eat. There is a bar inside with a couple of TVs. The drink below is a lavender lemonade, it might be called something else on the menu, but I was not disappointed. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

Everything was great! The food was incredible and very fresh, they have a great happy hour from 4-6 p.m. with half off appetizers and drink specials (delicious fried okra), the cocktails were very good and balanced, and the service was very good. I was surprised this place wasn’t packed with people! Definitely recommend if you are looking for delicious southern inspired food.

New and very quaint. It has nice vibes and waitresses are great . Food was so beautiful but not my taste. Shrimp and Grits way to salty swimming in buttery gravy . Surf and Turf picture perfect .Presentation perfect all around for all dishes . This place is in an awkward location . So if you think your gps is leading you wrong , it’s not. Large parking lot . Wheelchair mobile people will need help opening the door . But chairs can be moved inside to accommodate you . There is also an area for covered outdoor seating .Dont expect to get out of here short of about $30 . All in all, it’s not my taste but beautiful date night spot . I won’t be back but it is cute as heck ..

New restaurant near my home was a nice treat today for brunch. We had the omelet, shrimp and grits, and peach chicken and waffles. Although it was their soft launch, the service was good and the food was delicious. Did not try the biscuits yet but one day we will. Grits for the shrimp and grits could have been thicker. We shared this feedback with the server and she shared the information with the manager. Drinks were good. Met the GM and Manager. It was nice to see them helping the servers. That is what true leaders do.
