This was the first time I’ve been to a Tumbleweed in a long-time. I used to really enjoy their chicken mushroom quesadillas, but the Tumbleweed near me closed, though when I saw this one, I decided to give it a try to see if it was as good as I remembered it.
I saw that they had the chicken mushroom quesadilla as a special, so was glad to be able to order that. I also got an order of the pretzel bites and queso as an appetizer. The quesadilla was as I remembered it, the tortilla was really stuffed and had a great crunch to hold it all together. I feel like the chicken could have used a bit more flavor or the quesadilla could have used more cheese to bring it all together. It was still good though. The pretzel bites were disappointing though. I won’t say they were bad, but I feel like I could have made better ones by grabbing the frozen ones at the store. Though the queso they came with was good. The had an apricot salsa which was an odd flavor I didn’t care for, but I respect the attempt at something different. Overall food, 3/5.
Service was unfortunately rather poor. The waitress seemed to want to say as few words to me as possible while still doing her job. At the start she did a good job of keeping my drink refilled which was great. But then when a party of 7 came it it seemed like she ignored me. She also never brought or offered chips and salsa, in fact I wasn’t sure if they were included until I asked the person who brought out my quesadilla. Then it took me forever to get my check. Overall service 2/5.
Unfortunately when I got my bill, I saw there was a 3% fee for paying with a card. This was not disclosed on the menu or anywhere else in the restaurant. I understand why some places add these fees, but not disclosing them up front seems like an unethical business practice. It could potentially be considered a deceptive practice under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA), which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts in consumer transactions. Non-disclosure of such fees also violates Visa and Mastercard network rules for debit card transactions. I mentioned the fee to the waitress, who said she could not address it and that I’d need to contact corporate. Due to this undisclosed fee, I gave a final rating of 1/5, even though the food and service alone would have earned a 3/5.

I haven’t eaten at a Tumbleweeds in probably 15 years. Unfortunately all of the ones immediately around me went out of business. So I was excited to be around one that is about an hour drive from my house. I placed an order to go for a chicken fajita and a steak fajita. They USED to have to beat fajitas you could get. The lady checked the order before giving it to me to make sure everything was there which I appreciated. I would’ve been upset if I drove an hour home to find my order was wrong. Unfortunately the order was correct but the food flat out sucked. My steak wasn’t cooked right and tasted like the barn floor. I questioned if it was even good or if it was spoiled. Also the portions of meat were very little. To think I paid $20 a meal for a giant pile of onions. I’ve provided a picture of the lack of meat and abundance of onions which weren’t even good. I would’ve like more peppers for sure. None of it tasted even remotely the same as it used to. I know places change but this was just flat out disgusting. Just a very disappointing meal that I’ve basically been waiting 15 years to have. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I want to point out the good this restaurant has first before anything.
As any texmex restaurant you have variety of food as expected. We were seated right away and offered drinks almost immediately.
Here’s the turning point; we arrived at almost 6 pm dinner time. Most of us were prepared for what to order. 2 of the 10$ steak and 2 sides. 1 chicken dinner and the grilled steak tacos.
Before our dinner, we ordered chips and queso as well as a few margaritas – delicious!
We had some small talk and waited patiently for our food. We could tell they were busy with take out orders and considered their time management would suffer a little.
Unfortunately, we did not receive our food for over an hour, let’s say about 7 pm?! We received our food and were highly disappointed.
Purple steak that was cold. Steak tacos that were cold as well as questionable steak – dry and tasteless. Not only could we not eat any of our food other than the sides, but it was time wasted.
We did not pay for the food and appreciate the understanding.
We Unfortunately will not be returning.

Our burgers were not cooked properly. We asked for medium well, and they were past well done. The waitress asked if we wanted to send them back… who has time to wait another 25 minutes to get an order that should have been done right in the first place. It was supposed to be unlimited fries. We were never asked if we wanted more. Not impressed. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Our first time and it was ok. My wife ordered the white chili, although it would have been too soup like for me, she absolutely loved it (and that’s whats really important). I had the 10 oz sirloin and it wasn’t bad. It was perfectly cooked to order (rare) but I prefer thicker cuts and it was pretty thin. The rice was good and waffle fries exceptionally good. Service was really good. I’m just not sure if you get your value for the money but if you haven’t been here give it a shot!

Very disappointed, first time there, advertised queso cheese which is what I ordered got some funky spicy orange cheese that looked more like Velveeta. My husband’s steak was dry and tasted like yesterday’s leftover steak. Won’t be going back… On the up side, service was very good.

Great experience for my first time visiting. The food was really great and overall the prices wasn’t to bad. The staff was very friendly from the hostess, the waitress was very prompt. And the cook. This has been the juiciest and most tender chicken I have ever had. They was very good with my daughter aswell and kid friendly menu.

Well, we had no idea that this place went Mexican. The food was a bit pricey. We didn’t know that there’s a Mexican restaurant right next door. It was very cold in there. I guess the bartender just up and left, leaving nothing done. They do have a daily lunch special. The day we were there it was a Mexican Salad Bowl or whatever that’s called. It was good. The crust was flaky and all.

Tumbleweed used to be a favorite place for our family to eat. But our last several experiences at tumbleweed had been aweful. So my husband and kids ask to eat here tonight, I really didn’t want to but I told myself this time would be better. So we arrived at about 8:50, waited 20 min to even see a waitress. When she finally came to our table the kids said we were ready to order. The waitress refused to take our order said there were other people ahead of us. So we had to wait. When she came back she didn’t even have our drinks. She took our order after we had to repeat it several times. 15 min later we got drinks and chips and salsa. After over an hour waiting our food finally came. And not only was the order wrong but we were given crusty beans that had hardened in the pan from setting out, and a steak taco with 2 strips of steak on it. We also got black beans that tasted sour like they were no good. We then had to ask 4 times to get our dipping sauces and our waitress never came back after taking our order. The hostess served us and brought our food. Overall the experience was terrible again. I don’t suggest anyone eat here. Our family definitely won’t be back. I’m not for sure what happened to tumbleweed but it is not worth the hours wasted or the money spent. $13 for four strips of steak on a tortilla. If I could give 0 stars I would. It’s sad to see what used to be a great place to eat go downhill this far.

This is the 3rd time I’ve been to Tumbleweed in the last year and gotten AWFUL food. Everything was burnt and had no flavor. I even paid a dollar more for “top shelf tequila” for my margarita and it still had no flavor. The boyfriend and I were only able to take a couple of bites of our burgers and our stomachs hurt.
