If you’re into tacos, this is the place for you!
The restaurant itself was a pleasure—clean and bright with a beautiful contemporary design. We dined on a Saturday around 5:30 PM and definitely beat the crowd; by 6:30 PM, it started getting busy.
Our waiter, Johnny, was the perfect host: warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made several excellent recommendations, including the daily “surf and turf” tacos. Yummy! We also indulged in the coconut shrimp and tequila shrimp tacos, all of which were fantastic.
The drink menu was just as impressive. The passion fruit and guava margaritas were absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to the food.
You absolutely can’t end the night without dessert! We splurged on the churros and the tres leches “Twinkies,” which we paired with a warm, aromatic cup of cappuccino.
We can’t wait to go back. It was well worth it! Thanks, Johnny, for making our girls’ night out a success!
As soon as we stepped inside, we loved the decor and overall atmosphere. It really feels like dining in Mexico. (I was so interested in the photos around the bathrooms!)
For drinks, we had to try the margaritas (guava, coconut, and passionfruit) — 2 with alcohol, 2 without. The presentation was beautiful of course and they were as good as they looked. They were super refreshing and the alcoholic ones weren’t too strong.
For appetizers, we went with the chips & guac (a must, it was excellent), the coconut shrimp (sooo flavorful & juicy!), and the Mexican wings (the sauce was delicious). We were so pleased by the apps that we were worried we wouldn’t have room for the entrees (don’t worry, we did).
We tried the tequila shrimp tacos, pork al pastor, surf & turf tacos, and birria quesadilla. Everything was amazing. I usually opt for fish tacos everywhere I go but my tequila shrimp was so juicy that I might have a new go-to here (but I’m so excited to return and try a few other options). My mom’s pork al pastor was well seasoned & flavorful. The only thing we wished is that we could’ve picked between corn & flour tortillas.
For dessert, we tried almost everything. (Could we have shared, probably. But why not try it all?) The Twinkie tres leches cake was really great (not as soaked as your typical tres leches but the flavor was rich & sweet). I loved the churros (they were nice & soft and the right amount of sweet), the flan was good. We also ordered a latte & a Dulce de leche ice cream “ahogado,” both were yummy.
The service was amazing. Our server, Johnny gave us great recommendations, was so patient, answered all of our questions, and took such good care of us. He was really a pleasure and made the entire night even better.
I can’t wait to go back and try everything else that looked so good!
And let’s not talk about the fried Yuca, I could eat the whole thing by myself. The vibe, the food and the drinks… absolutely perfect
The food was the disappointing part… avoid the spicy tuna tostada it had no flavor & was mushy and $19… id recommend making a smaller amount of tuna and charging less on an appetizer, adding lime & cilantro for flavor. An appetizer should be an appetizer price or really good and it was neither.
They had a wide variety of tacos which was really cool but you could only order one flavor in sets of 3 which was disappointing. We went w their tequila shrimp which was lacking in flavor.
Overall id give the food a 6/10. If I come back it would be to try the buffalo cauliflower taco and the tres leches. Really cute spot, I did not try the drinks but they looked good!
