We had a great experience at Tulum Mexican Kitchen. The food is delicious! The menudo was full of flavor, and the chilaquiles are definitely a great choice.

The staff is super friendly and the place is comfortable. The music was a little loud for my taste, but overall it’s totally worth it. I will definitely be coming back!

The atmosphere is mystical jungle vibes. Very nice decorations and lots of cool places to take pictures!
The food was good! I usually love Enchiladas anywhere I go and this place really hit it out of the park with the flavor on the sauce, perfectly cooked chicken and great portion size. Even though it looked like it wasn’t going to be filling, it was!
The Quesabirria tacos were good. Not as good as the Enchiladas but your typical birria tacos. Cheese pull is freaking amazing! Would go back to this place as much as possible!

I’ve been a few times now—both for breakfast and dinner. On weekdays there’s usually little to no wait, but weekends can easily run 30–45 minutes. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently underwhelming regardless of the time. Even something as simple as getting a water refill after finishing my michelada felt like a mission, and the staff energy was pretty indifferent.

That said, the food is where this spot redeems itself. The ribeye aguachile was the standout—bold, well-balanced, and easily my favorite dish so far. Breakfast was also a solid experience, flavorful and satisfying. Drinks were fine but nothing memorable.

There’s plenty of parking available, though I’d skip the garage if you can.

Brought my family here for my mom’s birthday. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food with huge portions. Our server Sebastian was attentive & offered great food/drink suggestions. Cafe de olla was so gooood. One of my favorite restaurants in the area, will definitely be back soon!!

My experience with this restaurant has been amazing. The customer service is phenomenal! The waitress and hostess were so friendly, respectful and kind . Now days it’s so hard to see that in restaurants. The decorations of the restaurant it’s beautiful and cool. It can be a little pricey but the experience makes up for it and it’s totally worth it . Know that this is a Mexican restaurant but some dishes are made differently depending what part of Mexico you are from and used to. The coffee was delicious! Cafe de olla .

My husband and I really loved our food at Tulum Mexican Kitchen. I ordered the Mini Birria Pambazo, an appetizer, and it made me super full like a full entre would! My Husband ordered Camarones En Chipotle and he really enjoyed his food as well! He and I both added lime to our food which really enhanced the flavor. I also ordered a Mango Margarita and he ordered a Jamaica. Both very tasty! If we’re ever in the San Jose area again (we’re from OC) we’ll definitely be back!!

We tried a new spot for dinner in Vietnam Town called Tulum, a Mexican restaurant with such a wonderful vibe the moment you walk in. From the outside it looks huge, but inside the space is beautifully designed with two levels of seating, eye catching decor, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

We started with the mango ceviche, which I really enjoyed. If you prefer something less sweet, I would recommend going with the regular ceviche instead. For our main dish, we ordered the molcajete and it was absolutely amazing. It came packed with seafood, chicken, and steak all simmering together in a heated stone bowl with melted mozzarella inside. The red sauce was rich and flavorful, and since the stone kept the dish hot the entire meal, every bite was just as good as the first. The tortillas on the side made it fun to eat like tacos and the flavors were out of this world.

The only thing to keep in mind is that the food does take a little longer to come out, so be prepared for a wait if you are really hungry. That said, it was worth every minute, and while we were waiting we kept noticing other guests getting equally unique and sizzling dishes served in stone bowls.

Tulum is such a fun addition to San Jose dining and I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu.
