We were a party of four for dinner on a weeknight. We were seated right away. Service was good; only had to ask once to have my water glass refilled. They gave us a couple of samples of food we were interested in trying, which is great service. We tried three appetizers: the pickle fries were a good concept that did not turn out so well. The breading did not stay on the pickles, probably because they were sliced too thin. The cheese balls were good. And the German sausage had a nice flavor. I had the ham sandwich for dinner, with beans as my side. Other parties had: a double stack dinner plate with pulled pork and ham, the smoked baked potato, and a Reuben. Observations: the ham is super salty, which I like but others didn’t. Great bread on that sandwich. The beans, and smoky mac and cheese were spicy/hot. The beans were also sweet. The BBQ sauce is quite sweet overall. The pulled pork was fine (have had better), the baked potato was huge with lots of pork.

I really wanted to post a five-star review when I sat down to eat, but I just can’t for a couple reasons. First, the good: the location is clean and there are plenty of tables and it’s got a nice atmosphere for a legit BBQ place. Smells good! Plenty of options on the menu, even a bunch of non-BBQ items. Prices seemed reasonable. Service was fast and friendly when I was seated. BBQ sauce was flavorful, even if a little over-sweet and thin. Plus, they have burnt ends all the time!
But there were a couple things that took away stars. First, while I understand the nature of burnt ends, my portion was nearly all fat, very little meat. Perfectly cooked and tender, with a nice smoke ring and perfect crust, but just extremely fatty, unfortunately. Second, the potato salad was clearly from a giant tub, not fresh made, and was pretty bad. Finally, while everyone was friendly, after my server brought my order, I never saw her again. Never got a water refill; sat there with an empty cup for the last half of my meal. And never got the check or ticket, just had to go up front until someone noticed me at the register and they had to figure out what I ordered and how much it would be.
Overall, I’d come back if I’m in the area. They deserve another chance to get a five-star review, and the good things were quite good.

Randomly stopped in Cameron and found this little gem. This is a great spot too stop and grab some food while travelling. This place seems to be a local place but has a bit of character. The smoked burger with pulled pork is top notch! Also the rib tips and smoked sausages were also pretty good. When you first walk in you will immediately notice the immense care and respect that have for veterans and military. Which I am a veteran, so I can appreciate that even more

The best BBQ North of I70! We love their loaded nachos…pulled pork, jalapenos, yummy cheese…so good. The mac and cheese is good enough to be a meal on it’s own. Highly recommend. Great service. Wonderful owners.

Road trip with my husband. Stopped for a late lunch. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. My hubby had the boss hog sandwich and I had a platter with ribs and brisket. SO DELICIOUS. I was kinda sad once it was all eaten. I would stop again if I was in town. Highly recommend you eat here.
Plus the bathroom is a jail cell… so cool.
Thanks for a great lunch!

Best bbq I’ve had in a long time. The fried mushrooms are amazing. The building is an old police station but you wouldn’t know it unless you use the restroom, they are actual jail cells! Great place, will be back again.

A cool little hole in the wall diner with a lot of history in the building. Everyone was super friendly and my grub came out quickly. I tried the pulled pork sandwich, Carolina style. Their slaw is a little different than the normal, homemade and delicious none the less. Their in house sauce was good enough that I bought some to take home. Prices are very reasonable too. Would definitely stop here again! Keep up the great food!

I really enjoyed the food. The waitress was great. The place was busy! It did take a bit of time to get our order, but as I said, it was busy.

100% satisfied with my meal and service. Their chopped beef sandwich and breaded shrooms we’re to die for. I’m so glad we decided to stop here for lunch as we traveled through. We will definitely have to stop in again next time we travel.
