Was really looking forward to coming here, but probably won’t be coming back. When we arrived there was very few cars in the parking lot on a Sunday night. We thought that was a little strange, but disregarded it. Walked in and noticed that the inside had a darker ambience. Didn’t quite match what we thought it might look like inside. After we were sat and got our water, it took 15 minutes for the waiter to come back to our table to get our food order. Now I completely understand when a restaurant is busy, that taking an order can take time, but there was hardly any one in there. Everyone else had already ordered their food. The food was the best part about the place, but the prices were a little high for what the food was. Overall, probably would’ve rated this place higher if the service, ambience, and prices were better.

The food here was absolutely delicious! We really loved the food. But the price point was higher than I would expect at this restaurant. We went out to eat with another family. They got there first and my friend said that due to the indoor kids play place that there were kids running around yelling. Thankfully, they left before we arrived. But definitely not something you want when you’re spending ~$50/person. We got the lb of ribeye but it comes with nothing. So we ordered jalapeño poppers and vegetables with it. The bacon on the poppers was cooked perfectly. I’ve never had such crispy bacon on a popper. It was very good. My son just ordered an 8 oz steak (the steak comes with nothing) and soda. He also ate quite a bit of the bowl of chips in the middle of the table. Those were good. My skinny margarita was decent and my husband liked his old fashioned. But for these prices, they should we least include sauces! You have to buy salsa or chimichurri if you want it. Also, they might consider having English next to their Spanish on the menu, especially on this side of town. But overall, we did enjoy the food. We were a party of 3 and so was the other family. So we were a total of 6, and when we got our checks the 20% gratuity was already added. That’s a very small group of people to add gratuity. Both our checks were just shy of $200 with gratuity. So I’m not sure if we’ll be coming back. For just a little more we can go to a Brazilian steakhouse with unlimited food.

I want to start by saying, I love the food and the service. Ambiance, an indoor playground is some sort of a unicorn in San Antonio. Amazing! The biggest down fall in my view is the price. There are additional costs for everything. Salsa extra, tortilla chips extra, tortillas extra, sides for meal extra. That easily adds ups and seems a bit deceitful. This would be an amazing hang out for people in the area, but the value is simply not there. Simple changes can make a huge difference if it’s a place you will go recurrently. At this time, it’s a one and done for me even though the food was quite delicious

What a great restaurant! We went at about 6:30pm on a Thursday and were greeted and seated quickly. There is also a little indoor playground for little kids. I got the flautas and they were delicious and beautifully plated. There was also live music which was also a great experience. Hope to come back soon

Greasy taco shells (super small corn tortillas) meat had no seasoning. My wife asked for flour tortillas so she wouldn’t have to eat greasy corn tortillas. $24 for 4 small street tacos. We will never ho back, should have known with only 2 people there.

We went for late lunch early dinner before the dinner crowd. Around 4:00 not too busy. We were able to get seated right away. Ordered appetizers & drinks. The appetizers came after around 20 minutes. Still no drinks from the bar. Saw our waitress & asked about the drinks, she went to go look and didn’t come back for a bit. Our dinner arrived still no drinks from the bar only our water. We asked and wanted to cancel our drink order & the waitress ended up bringing our drinks. Waitress never checked on us, during the meal to see how everything was. Our food was room temperature. Took forever for everything to come. Especially the drinks from the bar. Definitely will not be back to this place nor recommend to anybody. Will only say do not go here. Would hate to see how they are when they are busy.

We always have a fantastic experience at Tu Asador! The atmosphere is warm, inviting while also vibrant with their live music. Our waiter, Guillermo, is always incredibly attentive—friendly and knowledgeable.

The food is delicious and authentic, and to top it all off, we ordered the mostachón cake for dessert. It was a total standout—light and creamy with a perfect balance of sweetness and texture.

Highly recommend Tu Asador for anyone looking for a fantastic meal, good vibe and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!
