Ever Since I could remember, I already knew how to use a chopstick. Noodles have been part of my life – ramen being my favorite. Eventually, it turned into my passion. I always want to challenge people’s perception of Japanese food …. I want to introduce it to people of Frederick. This desire to deliver memorable , standout Japanese inspired dishes has driven the opening Tsunami in Downtown Frederick. Tsunami is a perfect combination with original Japanese dishes with Western Style cuisine -a unique fusion that will entice everyone to come and experience something new. From ramen to izakaya to a tapas, each delivers something slightly different, with the guarantee of creative food full of flavor.

I’ve never had ramen that wasn’t from a package at home, so I definitely wanted to try this place. I was not disappointed! I ordered the Chicken Karaage Ramen and it was delicious. My server was attentive and polite. I went at lunchtime so it wasn’t crowded at all. If you’re looking to try REAL ramen, try Tsunami!

We were looking at all of the tapas places in Fredrick and decided to give this one a try! And let me tell you, we were not disappointed! All of our plates were delicious and the atmosphere was very chic. My favorite thing was probably the chashu pork belly tapas, pan roasted chicken tapas (with the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had in my entire life!) and taro bubble tea.

Fun place, owner painted the artistic walls, shrimp and char siew tacos were the best flavor combinations. We bought two rounds of tacos because they were delicious. Our server was delightful and all the staff were friendly. Will go there again soon.

The food was delicious. Try the fried dumping appetizer. Best I’ve ever had. Food is fresh & so flavorful. Service was excellent & the recommendations (when we asked) were on point. I’ll definitely go back to try the Red Curry, the Ramen & Taro bubble tea. Oh & Happy Hour!

This is one of the best (if not the best) ramen places around Frederick. The server was very nice and despite there being quite a crowd on the weekend, still made an effort to check on us. We got tuna spicy tuna bite appetizer, a taro milk tea, Tsunami ramen, and bulgogi tacos. Again, the ramen was fantastic! It got the right amount of spice…maybe a little heavy on the butter but my husband wasn’t complaining. XD The milk tea was a bit heavy on the brown sugar but still tasty and the rest of the food were good. Definitely would visit again!

Among the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. Great noodles and delicious broth. The ingredients were noticeably fresh and the flavors outstanding. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was delivered quickly.
