Reviews
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and full of personality. Everyone working there is friendly, funny, and clearly enjoys what they do. I even had the chance to step into the back and take a look at the kitchen — and I have to say, it was impressively clean and well organized. The communication between the team was seamless, something you don’t always see, and it showed in how smoothly everything ran.
As for the food, I tried a little bit of everything: wings, a burger, a chicken sandwich, and seasoned fries.
The chicken sandwich was straightforward in the best way. A crispy, well-seasoned batter with a juicy chicken breast inside, topped simply with mayo, lettuce, and a slice of tomato. Nothing overdone, nothing unnecessary — just a well-executed, satisfying sandwich that lets the quality of the chicken speak for itself.
The smash burger leaned slightly thicker than the traditional version but still had that signature sear and flavor. It was well seasoned, juicy, and balanced — a solid, dependable burger that hits the comfort-food mark.
The wings were a standout. Perfectly battered and glazed, each variety had its own personality. The honey hot delivered an excellent balance of sweet heat, easily one of the favorites. The barbecue wings followed with a sweet, smoky flavor that worked beautifully. The classic hot wings weren’t quite as memorable as the other two, but they were still well cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy inside — no complaints there.
Finally the seasoned fries that was a great addition to the meal. Well seasoned and delicious crispy outside with a fluffy inside, simply Mind blowing.
All in all, everything was cooked properly, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. This is definitely a place worth returning to, especially to explore more of the menu. Once word gets out — or once that sign goes up — don’t be surprised if it becomes a local favorite.
The food was the highlight. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The seasoning was on point — not too salty, not too bland, just right. The portions were generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. Every bite tasted homemade, like it was cooked with care instead of rushed.
The service was friendly and efficient, even when it was busy. You can tell this place is popular for a reason. Overall, Tru’s Kitchen delivers great comfort food, solid portions, and a good vibe. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for flavorful, satisfying food in St. Louis. I’ll for sure be coming back!
